Window tint

I tried to search but did'n't manage to find appropriate thread... About CX-5 window tints in the US. Are they factory tinted or does the dealer to this by them selves? Do you CX-5 owners in the US have all your windows tinted? I noticed that there is a film tint on side windows (darker on back) and I was wondering if it is easy to remove.

Thanks!

Generally a full tint would be from the dealers, I know some manufactures tint ( aka privacy glass) the rear doors and back glass at factory as a look, haven't seen too many cars tinted fully from factory, it's a good profit driver for the dealer

Weeboom - In the US market, nearly all of the higher-end crossovers/SUVs have tinted rear windows or privacy glass (all rear passenger windows and cargo section windows tinted dark) from the factory which is legal for SUV/light truck.

Specifically the CX-5 Touring and Grand Touring models have the rear privacy glass as standard equipment. If a dealer or shop tints the 2 front side windows, it can be removed for minimal cost later by same shop (for about $25).

Yes, I learned this the hard way. When I bought it new in early March 2012, I was ignorant to the car's features, and didn't realize Mazda offered privacy glass as standard equip. So, when I saw $500 itemized on my window sticker and other documentation for dealer added tint, of course I cussed at the steep cost, but I didn't realize it was a sham overall, and they really hadn't tinted a damn thing. >: (
