I'm an old guy, 57. My wife and I have had about 4 cars hit during the past 35 years. I learned that as long as nobody was hurt, things were OK. You can always get another car.
Count your blessings. The car's job is to sacrifice its life to save yours. You should be grateful.

I don't make a lot of money but when I buy stuff I buy it because it is what I want. Point: some of us are emotionally attached to our vehicles because we can't go out every year or two like some rich ass people and just buy another car. Now trying to be a dick, but some of us are different. To me, my car is not "just another car". It is me and my way of life.
Glad to see your wife is ok though. Hopefully the CX-7 looks awesome once it has been repaired. Keep us posted!

At the end of the day it was a relief too, to see that the CX-7 can take such a hit so well should our whole family be inside of it next time.

lol, that's funny in FL, that would be "unrepairable"
one of my ex's had a scion tC the front end got busted from hitting another car (rear end) but it definitely didn't look bad and would have been an easy fix (i've worked autobody) but her insurance company said it was "totaled" and just issued her a check for the money and she got a new car........ heh.
Good luck getting everything done and fixed.......
