WI: I Spotted a Mazda Thread

oh ya i saw a really nice silver rx-8 a newer one with the led tails, had SCCA magnets near the side skirts and stuff, stanced real low, but ive never seen his car at any autocrosses, maybe he does road racing.....

this was on ryan rd. in oak creek by the police station
 
White Mz3 sedan, lowered, wheels, painted calipers, dark tint. Passenger rolled down the window to rubber-neck out the window.

1:40pm today westbound toward the zoo interchange.
 
saw an older red miata on s. chicago rd. in oak creek/south milwaukee, looked like his parking lights were missing.....sounded really nice when it passed by
 
LPM MS6 with gunmetal wheels, tint, works at a restraunt near me but never acknowledges me, mugged the s*** out of me today in Muskego.
 
Saw a stock gunmetal MS6 on Delafield and Grandview today at 4:53 or so. Had a license plate that said "Dooby"

Yes...Ive seen him in parked in South Milwaukee High School and my kids' school (Rawson)...sad thing is...it has a typeR badge on the back :( boo!
 
so, TypeR reminded me... I saw an older civic (purple) near the gas station at 76th and greenfield. It was an EX with an Si badge wrapped around it. Wish I woulda gotten a look at the owner to verify truth of the badge...

so it was purple so probably a 5th gen i'm guessing in which I believe only the coupe came in purple....but the si was only available as the hatch until 6th gen....so major fail.

wait.....now that i ******* think about it....even more fail on me that I retained this much info on civics (freak)
 
This was a 92-95. What gen is that? Don't know. But to my knowledge there was not an Si in that gen at all. Just the same I found the creative badging hilarious.
 
92-95 (5th gen) is the EG which the Si was only available in the hatch back, same with the EK (88-91). The 96-98 (6th gen) style did not have an Si and then the 99-00 (6.5 gen) had the coupe Si. Also, the purple (aka Camelia Red Pearl) was only available from 92-95.

However, the EX's had the same engine as the Sis from 92-95 (the D16Z6, SOHC VTEC motor). The Si's had ABS brakes and some other s***. The JDM SiR's had B16s in them (DOHC VTEC motor) and came in the hatch or the "ferio" (sedan).
