I voted to keep it. We need to rid the world of more stupid people. Thing like helmet laws and seatbelt laws, speed limits keep stupidity in our gene pool. If people want to drag on the street and htey end up rolling thier cars 15 times then its on them. They should be smart enough to know that they should not be doing it in the first place. But hell its a long lived tradition since the muscle car days and it will never go away just because you remove a thread. They didnt even have the interent when the mustangs were whooping the chevy's back in the late 60's

Understand your point here, but you're for getting about the innocent people who are hit by the rolling car.

not true i just read the street racing thread with msp vs bmw, ima go out right now and try to find one to race

but is that going to cut down on anything? i really dont think so. Lets be honest with ourselves, not one person posting in this thread would be swayed to go out and race by reading a "kill" story in the forum.

Right...but also, no one can post about racing someone on the street to gain satisfaction either.

okay, how bout this rule:
talking about street racing is prohibited, but posting videos of your street race okay. I'd rather see a video than read anyways.

but seriously, I've been reading this forum for a while, do we really have THAT much of street racing problem?

some people have lost others they care about in a street racing accident. maybe you have been lucky enough not to have, but that's not true for everyone. i don't read it, but i still think it has no place on this board as there is nothing positive associated with it
Exactly my point, because you don't like it and you think it has no place here, that means that everyone else shouldn't like it. I respect your opinion and yes street racing is dangerous, but that still doesn't mean that removing a section for it is going to make it safer, or make it occur less, all it will do is make you and people with your same view point feel better, because out of sight out of mind.

I just think having a section for it encourages it. That is just my opinion.

And I think that people are smart enough to make decisions for themselves.
Just my opinion. Which each of us has the right to have. (usa)

can anyone argue why there should be a street racing section? what function does it serve?

Read the first two pages or so...I give my thoughts on why there should be a street racing section.

I don't really like to argue or get worked up over things....so we'll just let the voters make the decision. Everyone has the right to their own opinion.

In the end, if this were my forum, I would not want to promote any illegal activity wether it was street racing, doing drugs....or anything thing of it's kind.

Peace

Click You don't want there to be a street racing forum because street racing is bad but in that link you talk about racing an rsx. Outside of the street racing forum no less.

i don't aim to change the people who are on this site or what they do, nor do i feel better or worse by reading or not reading about others street racing, but it is my opinion that a site about automotive enthusiasts should encourage people to be responsible, and having a section about street racing does not do that

Exactly...something I shouldn't have posted. Also, it was to 70 mph in a 65 mph zone.

Yes, it was outside of the Street Racing section also....because I don't care to really call that street racing. It was not organized and it was within limits.

I am with you on that, I have to drive over 1 hour to get to one.
only 1 hour? that's pretty close considering the amount of noise they make and the fact that most of htem are out in the middle of nowhere. i've got two of them near me, each of them are 3 hours away. i know of street races around here that are done in industrial parks late at night, and while i don't go, it's more because of the type of people that do go than my disagreement with street racing, as that is a relatively safe environment. if i did go, however, i wouldn't feel the need to post on here about it, just as people who legitimately drag race at sanctioned events don't post about every car they beat

So that makes it any safer or any less likely for someone to get hurt? Those speeds are not to far below what people trap in the 1/8 mile.

is it gonna kill you if someone posts about it

Not to be a jerk....but can you post anything besides sarcasm in this thread?

Yes and No.

I think a race to the speed limit is pretty safe, don't you?

Also, my post purpose was to find out more about the Acura RSX-S, not brag about racing one.
