I'll be glad to dispute that......BBC article linked below shows rise in gun crime and violent crime.......similar info can be found for Australia following the disarming of their citizens. And great examples of how disarming the public doesn't work can be found right here in the U.S.........Washington D.C......yep, consistently tops in gun murders in the U.S. and guns are illegal there.

Like I said........what needs to happen is concentration on stopping criminals......legal gun owners are not a problem. They are our protectors. Wanna know how many planes would have crashed on 9/11 if law abiding citizens would have been allowed to pack? My bet is "0".

The number of crimes involving firearms in the West Midlands has risen significantly, according to new figures.

I copied that really slowly for you. Here is a story about another happy gun owner:

I bet she was the one who was going to pack on the plane and stop those naughty terrorists.

Re: hey rizzo...

Also about the original topic of this post. I love guns, I do hunt, and I also shoot for sport. I must say that my favorite gun is the Browning .338 Remington Ultra Mag. Such a nice gun, sad thing is Browning stopped making it, people just weren't buying them cause of the size. [/B][/QUOTE]

its against the law for us to be used against the people.

and whoever said they have a m16 id like to see it. not some pic from a website. and tell me the specs on your m16. what is the rifling? what caliber? weight? maximum range? maximum effective range? muzzle velocity? nah, nevermind you can find that on websites. i think youre full of s*** about the weapons however.

OH MY GOSH... i hate hearing people go on about how how guns cause violence and rant on with statistics that dont consider all factors.

I live in Mississippi and you dont even have to have a gun license here. You only need a license if you want to carry one all of the time.. and thats only a hundred bucks.

hey loj, thanks for the support btw didn't bother to do any major research for proof before- just knew the truth

kc5 .....no no one has a hopw against the us military.....but do we have a hopw if our rights are contiually spilled from under us by closet socialist...think about it

I'm sorry, how is a regional rise in violence (attributed to drugs in the article) any sort of support to your point whatsoever. To say that gun control has created an increase in violence you have to prove it. You can't just say, oh hey, some people died and so it must be because of something I don't like. Go, read the BCS (prepared by the government). The ENTIRE British territories have experienced a 19% drop in violence from 2001-2002. NOT JUST ONE SECTION.

Another fun link (this one from this weekend as well):

http://www.cnn.com/2003/HEALTH/10/03/cdc.gun.laws.ap/index.html

Of course, once again since there is no proof, then it must be something you don't like rather than another factor.

im buying a new glock pretty soon here. Just need some more money!

Glock! Nice..... nothing like a handgun thats capable of firing fully automatic but still be classified as a semi auto handgun...... thats my next gun to get as well...either that or a SIG.

the only glock that fires fully automatic is the glock 18, unless you buy illegal mods for it. both the glock 18 and the mods are illegal for a civilian to use.

I thought if you do the half trigger pull technique it misses the catch point so fires fully auto? All the glocks that is...at least the one I tried did.

no you were imagining things, it would be highly illegal at that point...thats right along with the rumor that glocks will pass through metal detectors...i had a glock19

well...i've talked to my brothers about that rumor of glocks passing through metal dectectors..they are both cops..there ARE glocks that were made that contained no metallic moving parts..but..have any of us ever seen one, no..will we ever? doubtful..who has them then? probably ******* al queda..

the Glock 18c has a response trigger..meaning there is a sweet spot about 3/4 of a pull into the trigger..once your into it, it conitiously getting faster, it isn't actually full auto..its a step up..single-3-5-full auto..its actually quite clever..i've actually shot one before at the meriden barracks for ct troopers..my brothers take me down there all the time..its a cool pistol, minus its a piece a s***...

I would get a glock but my dishwasher is already full of plastics. Just Kidding. Glocks are the standard issue for Special Agents. BUt I wanna get the fully custom springfield .45 (SWAT issue). I just need the $1800.00 that it cost.

I think Im gonna get the step down for the custom shop springfield .45 and get the regular one so minus that $800 it will be down to around $1000

Ok- statistics it is- total crime rates per capita in the UK 86.5 per 1000
United States 84.39 per 1000
Murders per capita UK .01 per 1000
United States .05 per 1000
Murders with firearms per capita
United States .03 per 1000
United Kingdom 0 per 1000 (but still number 32 in the top 100)

and a fun link- 80% of inmates got their guns to commit their crimes from an illegal source or from family/ or a street buy
http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/guns.htm

It is really amazing that there is really not that much difference in crime, considering we have handguns, rifles, etc. and the UK does not- I'll take my chances here thanks with our guns- one of the nice things about the US is we can disagree- and we both have the right to our beliefs:D

Oh, and by the way, the british territories have had hardcore gun control laws for many, many years- you cannot blame the drop on the lack of guns- look to other sources- and I am not trying to personally attack you- so don't be an @#$@ about your responses

I own a few as well. I need to update that list some more, but I don't really have time right now here at work. There's another thread you'll find if you search for "firearms", that has a lot of good stuff in it. I'm a reserve county deputy and I shoot with the GSSF and IDPA.

Bah, I like my combat tupperware. ;)

You need to check out the Kimber Line before you get even a Custom Shop Springfield... My dad shoots IPSC, and mainly uses a Les Baer Custom .45 and a new Kimber TLE... He used to shoot Springfield exclusively.

I think he only paid ~$1,000 for the kimber, the same gun used by LAPD swat and it is one sweet shooting bastard.

I've owned 3 springfield armory pistols, 2 1911 style, and 1 of the newer XD 9mm's. They make some good s***.

There's a pic attached of the LE.
