Who is overboosting and to what?

Open intake, open down pipe, and open cat back all allow the turbo to spool faster. The ecu can't control the fast spool up giving me a boost spike all the way to 21.5 when the car senses overboost and shuts the whole thing down. I would appreciate if suggestions are accompanied by your set up. If your not running this set up and aren't some turbo guru I don't know if your going to help (ie telling me what will or will not cause this).

Oh okay, I'll just let you figure it out then.

Well I would like to know what CP-E is selling their customers in this situation. If I had the cpe hks ssqv, cpe intake, cpe dp, and cpe cat back what could I do to stop the boost stupidity on my speed 3?

Hmm, I guess I don't know what you mean by "boost stupidity?" If you're referring to boost spikes, you can eliminate those when you install our Standback engine management. Our controller includes a PID feedback loop that constantly monitors the wastegate solenoid position relative to the boost pressure as measured in the manifold. In other words, our Standback takes total control over boost, instead of "piggybacking" the stock ECU boost control. Our controller is so good, that you can type in a number, and that's the boost you get. No spikes. If you change your engine combination and you do end up getting spikes, our PID feedback loop has adjustable PID coefficients so you can literally "tune out" the boost spike.

Example here:

This is a datalog that we recorded using out Standback engine management. What we wanted to show here is what happens when you stomp on the throttle. Notice no boost spike, and notice how smooth the curve is. It holds pretty darn steady at 17psi. Here is a shot of the boost parameters page in the Standback software:

So you can try little tricks like vacuum leaks and added pressure sensors, but if you're ever in the market for an engine management system, this one will eliminate those spikes you're seeing. That's our solution (if that was your question?).

Sorry to be off topic but for the OP...how do you like your Vibrant catback/corksport downpipe combo? Do they fit well together????? And are you running with a CEL on? I hear that even though the corksport downpipe doesn't have a cat you still don't get a CEL. Is this true????

Fit is great, sound is awesome! No cel at all. Call ken and buy it now! only problem is the boost will spike, but the cp-e post above really makes me want one of them to straighten everything out.

I still have CEL but Cork has been good about working some fixes out for me. I think i'm the only one with a cel though...

What code are you getting? Is it due to a Corksport product?

P0139 - 02 sensor reading slow. Yep

I have already increase the hole leading to the 02 to 13/32 but need to go to 27/64's after that they will be creating a shorter extension to see if that works.

But your not getting the cut when you hit that much boost?

It depends. Which gear? 1-3 not at all. 4-6 absolutely. I guess with the power limit I don get the fuel cut until the later gears. Which is why i order the ATP defender then the MBC to keep the boost at a MUCH lower number.
