Who has test-driven an RX-8?

Yes i've driven an rx-8 and the damn thing reminds me of a honda vtec motor. 1st and 2nd suck, then finally in third it kicks in. By that time all you'll see is my taillights. But your right thats what the aftermarket is for. I just think for 30k it should be faster. 30k could get u cars that would blow the doors off a rx8.

the 89-91 turbo II's produce more hp per liter than a 2jz (in stock trim) never drove the RX-8 but I guerentee that with a forced induction setup the car will beat the sti's cobra's and evo's. I love mazda and I love wankels

i'm so sad to to hear the prelude guys opinion of the rx8. because i test drove one and i tried to beat the crap out of it and it handled, accelerated and braked just fine. but then again what do i know. i'nm just a p5 owner.

LOL.. Hondas are riced? My Prelude is nowhere near rice.
That's a hasty generalization. A comment like that makes me look down on you. I believe my experience of the test drive was written professionally; not biased at all. The RX8 has its good and bad points.

At the end, I'm also a Protege5 driver.

Btw, I sure as hell hope you had fun. Going from a P5 to a RX8 is a big step.

Actually, not all Honda are rice. I've seen some nice ass Honda that's no where near rice, and PreFknLude_SiR's lude is no where near rice. I define rice as car with exterior that look fast, but it's actually slow.. how do you define your rice?

I rode in the backseat of an RX8 one time, the backseat wasn't terrible, I didn't care how cramped it was. It was an RX8!!

I have sat in them at the dealerships, I like them a lot, great interior. I hopped into one at the dealership and the battery and keys were in it. Oh the fun I could have had.

My point being they could change the sports car project to another name. They would not wan't to mislead the public, see?

But it's okay to disagree. The public is obviously not privy to inside information like what my friend heard from the Mazda engineers who were out at Laguna Seca that day with him.

I'm just letting people know how Mazda drivers are. If someone were to ask me on my opinions on Mazdas, I wouldn't say "Mazdas = riced."

You were the one who said the RX8 is the best overall car, and you even compared it to a M3. It's not even in the same class, but if you think the RX8 IS a sports car, then you're wrong. A 4 seater, 4 door vehicle is not a sports car in any way. And don't forget, there's still a S2k and the NSX that you can compare the RX8 with, if you want.
