Whiny screetching noise

my mp3 makes a high pitched whine when in excess of 85 or 90mph and i was worried that there might be a belt medded up or something.
i have had the car realighned to check that out and it didnt change anything. so there goes 50 dollars wasted so does anyone know any tips to check the belts or anything.
 
No but my P5 has a whining noise like this as soon as I cross 80MPH and it pisses me off because I only have 2500 miles on the car. Just have not made time to haggle with the dealer.
 
I hope so because I can duplicate it almost everytime I break just a mile over 80 back off and and break 80 again and it always right at eighty. If my engine blows at 2500 miles, Mazda is going to get the car plus the engine right in there lap.:)
 
well i cannot just ignore this because when my future plans go through to turbo charge then this will be unacceptable at all. so something is going to have to be fixed or ill just not even bother to turbo charge it.
 
mine appears to be coming from the passenger side and i dont really mind if i have to take something off the car just as long as the noise goes away. my car used to not make the noise that i can remember because i ran it up to 130 and it never made a peep that i can remember. and does anyone know how to get rid of the ignition cut?
 
I am with you on this one I have to have some resolution. I tried some belt dressing from the auto parts store and it seemed to tame it a little so it might be my belts. But it did it again last night on my way home. Not a very comfortable feeling on the highway with my kid in the back and my car starts moaning and sqeeling at 80MPH speed limit was 75. It does not affect accelration though so maybe it is a cosmetic noise. I sure hope so.
 
what ignition cut? the car is drag limited, meaning its not aerodynamic enough to go over 130 or 140 sometimes depending on conditions.

i have the noise, it is annoying. take it to the dealer and let them know.
 
s*** so i need to lower it down some more and look around for a more aerodynamically fit spoiler lighter wheels and light weight body peices to actually be able to break that huh? i mean i dont really care about brakings that but just in case someone does theyll know how
 
also, anyone get a hard clunking type noise when you shift into second really hard? i though i was being a noob and grinding the gear, but no i made sure that i slam the clutch to the floor and it makes the noise almost every high rpm shift b/w first and second
 
to go faster than 130 you need more horsepower. the car simply cant overcome the drag with its power. with more power it'll max out at a higher speed. and of course lowering the drag would help... you could put some radiator tape on like nascar :eek:
