which freakin shifter?!?!

B&M, kartboy and the TWM have stock threads sizes so you can fit your stock knob on it, any aftermarket knobs fits since they have those rubber liners for the inside

MP3 owners have to get a different knob...

Anyone know if the Mazda 3 knob will fit?

I thought the Mazda3 knob had the same pitch and thread as the standard Protege and Protege 5. I have heard of a few people making the swap.

give some facts
and one fact doesnt say that all b&m are problematic
i hate my b&m shifter.. it made the shifts in my car extremely notchy.. after driving other proteges with different ss's i love both kartboy and TWM ball bearing.. i got the twm though because the kit includes heat shield spacers and the ball bearing insert.. i dont think the notchiness is related to my tranny problems because i just recently installed my stock shifter and it feels like it was almost back to normal.. b&m quality is really nice and has decent short throws, but i didnt like the notchy feeling of the shifts..

btw ..you have to get the kartboy bushings .. they make a great difference!!

from what i've been hearing we have the shortest stick :0
the lower half is the same as all the others out there but we also lower the knob height from where it is stock. this will give a shorter lever to boot.
the stocker was just WAY to high for me.

our B&M bound really bad. then we yanked it out for one of ours :)

if you have any Q's please feel free to email me at tom@kartboy.com

Thanks
Tom

hmmm kartboy or b&m? hmmm shorter lever or shorter throw? i wish one was just clearly better than the other!

we are both
a shortened throw WITH a reduced height of the knob :)

Tom
what ever you do get a set of bushings tho ;)

Are people talking about the generation 1 TWM? I LOVE my generation 2 TWM.. it's a MUCH shorter throw and there's a good inch at least reduction in the height of the knob..

The ball bearings help too. :) Of course, you're going to pay more if you want it.

But yeah Tom's right, whatever you do definitely get the bushings..

Well I am short and if my shifter goes to far past the stock MP3 I may have trouble reaching 5th (screwy). I like to lay back N Primp dwn da skreet.

Will probobly go with B&M shifter, Kartboy bushings, maybe a Mazda 3 shift knob.
