Which Aftermarket CX-5 Double Din Receiver would you choose?

Cheers,

I have had my 2014 CX-5 GT (Bose system w/ tech package) for a couple months now. At first I thought the Bose system sounded amazing, but recently I feel the bass isn't that clear and distorts at about the dial 40. I've messed with the audio settings, turned off the center point, set bass to 0, etc; however, I feel the sound could be better.

I have been researching different receivers, which I have narrowed down to a couple different choices. Here's the link that compares the two side-by-side.

Also, want to add a powered sub woofer and I'm comparing these two: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/compare_items.php?product_id[]=18270&product_id[]=45053

Any help or better opinions would be greatly appreciated. Also, I plan on keeping the Bose speakers, for now anyways.

Thanks

Think I'd start with adding a sub. I have the Bose also and noticed what I thought was bass distortion at higher volumes. Try removing everything from the door cubbies and re-check. Worked for me.

To regain some storage, I purchased some cheap foam "coozie" can covers and put those in the cubbies, then added sunglasses, penlight, etc to the can covers.

You're definitely on the right track. Start with a good head unit with quality outputs!

Has anyone removed the factory 5.1" screen? I bought a new Appradio head unit, but noticed I still get pairing requests from Mazda. I'm guessing the old bluetooth module was not built into the factory head unit. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes I bought a appradio 3 and the Bluetooth is a module installed elsewhere. Secondly there are currently no fully functioning steering wheel adapter to use with most after market decks. Plus the voice button will not work as the Siri function on appradio 3 for iPhone.

Can you tell me where the bluetooth module is located? I need to remove it because the pairing requests are driving me crazy.

Have you tried this one for steering wheel controls?
