2002 mazda protoge5
i have an 02 protoge5 with 180,000 miles i bought it for 500 bucks because transmission was stuck in gear ended up being a broken shift fork. i took out the engine with the transmisson just because i dont know what they did or didnt do and its leaking oil from everywhere i was wondering what websites you guys get parts at. I need gasket set for everything, timing belt kit and, clutch kit.
thanks

^All that and amazon

Fixed/edit my 1st post :)

Totally forgot that I just purchased a new Dorman intake tube from Amazon for $23 shipped w/Amazon Prime. It was a good bit cheaper from the other places I was shopping around at online (new and used).

and don't forget the salvage yards. You gotta decide soon if you wanna fix your engine & tranny or replace.

I already have the tranny apart and a shift fork was broken nothing wrong with the engine but it would be stupid to put it back in without doing everything to it on the stand you wouldndt by a used shift fork or any of the other parts used especially when the fork is 40$ and then I get 30% off price thru my work

How do you break a shift fork in the first place? Is it wear and tear or is it because someone was trying to force the tranny into a gear?

it didnt break the actual forks that go on the syncro. there is a tab on the one that broke that makes another shift fork move with it. and that broke. i dont know how this one happened it was towed in and he didnt want to fix it so i bought it from him. but the reverse gear was kind of chewed up.

Be sure to do the timing belt as long as it's out. If it hasn't been done yet, its LONG overdue.

Yea the only thing worse then doing something twice is doing it twice and not getting paid for it. So I want to do everything while the motor is out and not have to worry
