2014~2018 Where to buy a spare tire?

The spare tire that came with the car is about 10 years old now. Its wheel is rusted. I've read that most tires have to be replaced every 6 years or so even if not in use? This spare tire had only been used a few times when I've had a flat. Is this a dealership only item?

the tire sitting inside the car should never be exposed to sunlight, so in theory it should last "forever"... UV is what damages the rubber and is why tires gets dry rotted and need to be replaced

the only time you need to replace a spare tire is when it's visbly damaged... happened to our corolla's... the tread started separating from the rest of the tire... apparently common on those cars but never seen it happen before
