Where is the Engine number Located in 2003 MazdaSpeed?

engine serial number is on the firewall side of the block on the bottom near the flywheel. See this ebay item for the pictures

And is it a numbers matching style thing? Like is the serial number on my 228k mile.motor linked to my msp?
