Where Is Mazda Headed Next?

If I were to get a BMW it'd be either an E30 M3 or better yet a 3.0csi. Nothing new from BMW really appeals to me and those two cars are going to do nothing but gain value.

Pretty much all new cars really....I can change lanes and hit the brakes by myself, thankyouverymuch. lol

They don't think you can hence the tech (rofl)

DING DING DING! You have moved out of your lane and seem to be going around something in the road! DANGER! DING DING DING!

*swerves you back into your lane so that you run over a bag of kittens and roofing nails*

Remember the thing on the road is more important than the car travelling on it!

True, but unless I'm doing long highway drives, I always have it turned off. If I'm doing a long drive I'll keep it on for the off chance I get drowsy.

What ever safety feature I have, they are always on but I am still "in charge"

Yea honestly I just leave them on. Lane depart assist doesn’t bother me because I use turn signals.

Yeah, I do too, all the time, one of my biggest pet peeves is when people cut into my lane without signalling; but our roads are so bad that if you had it on in the city you'd have your wheel vibrating and tugging every couple seconds avoiding potholes and veering over the lines to do so. It's a nightmare to drive our roads in NL, and as they fix them, more holes pop up because of the constant freeze and thaw that happens. So in town, or anywhere but the highway really, I turn it off just so I'm not annoyed by the constant buzzing and tugging on the wheel when I go to make maneuvers around holes and road debris, hahaha. The TCH is looked after on a national level, so they're in generally better shape. The Provincial Gov here in NL is the sh**s, so Provincial highways are generally garbage, arguably worse than the towns. Luckily I don't have to tangle with those unless I'm going to the cabin or on a road trip.

As a touring owner i love RCTA and BSM. They are perfectly calibrated, warns me but leaves room for error. Of the features i dont have - only one i care for is auto braking under 20 miles for looong traffic situations.
I dont need LKA and dont need the hub and dont need the Radar CC.

I really like the radar cruise! One of the reasons we got this over the Escape which has it as an option but is very rarely equipped.

So, the salesman at the dealership wasn't lying, at least half of what he said is true. The Mazda6 is getting the 2.5T engine option. Whether or not it will come with AWD, we'll find out at the LA Auto Show. I'm fine if it doesn't come with AWD, as long as it gets a LSD.

Confirmed but without AWD:

2018 Mazda 6 turbo flagship confirmed for Los Angeles motor show

Still doesn't make sense. Mazda 6 sells in small volumes. Would have made more sense to add this engine to CX-5 & 3 first as they sell in much higher volumes (uhm)

Especially if they really want to be compared with luxury brands like Infiniti and BMW that have comparable power as standard.

Indeed.

Only thing I can think as to why they added it to the 6 is because of it's age:

  • Current 6 introduced circa 2012
  • Current 3 introduced circa 2014
  • Current CX-5 introduced 2017
Hence they need it to keep ticking along until next generation 6 is released

It makes more sense from a premium perspective to first put the more powerful engine in their flagship sedan over their entry level 3.

Where does it say 'without AWD'? I also disagree that this makes more sense in the 3..no an AWD 2.5T 6 does, look I'm not saying sales double but I really think solidly double digit % gains would be a slam dunk if they pair it w/AWD while keeping the price competitive..keeping in mind AWD is a nice/upscale differentiating feature in the segment and not just for snow!!

If AWD was available, would be mentioned
