Tint: consider this
Hey I finally got my tint done, at Sun Tint. They have done a nice job. Here are a few things to consider:
* 3M: it's a flat black and doesn't fade. Also the most expensive. It'll look like to commercials,
i.e. very dark but you can still see thru the windows.
* Solargard: good brand. Titanium has a blue cast. Quantum has a bronze cast to me. Charcoal is black. All of those will not fade but will be metal-based to some extent. Which means a little mirror-like tint. The NR of Solargard will turn color after a few years.
I put 35% of all sides, and 20% on the rear window. I think I should have put 35% on the rear window also: with 20% it gets very dark in low light conditions and at night. I can even see the auto-dimming mirror not triggering any more. I think 35% should have been enough. Have in mind that the rear window of the P5 is very small in itself, therefore only little light (hence energy) goes through, so the 20% won't cut more energy than the 35%.
I chose the HP Charcoal, which is black but has a little mirror look which makes the car more shiny (white body). I think the 3M would have looked great too.
