When to buy MS3?

I have a question, when would be the best time to buy a Mazdaspeed3 GT or Non?

The reason I ask is I am currently stationed in South Korea until March 07. I have the ability to buy the car via family in the states, and then have the car sit there, but if I wait until March, do you think I'll still be able to buy one new from the dealer? Or will they all be gone by then?

I of course prefer to wait until March to buy it, so I can be there in person, but if they aren't going to be there by then, omgg'mecar.

I've heard they will make 5k MS3s this year, is that true? Supposedly only the first send out of cars is 1k which is why they are in low supply right now, and more will come later. Think there might even be an 08 model?

Comments, flames, opinions?

I feel your pain dude... i test drove a black MS3.. I looked like those guys on the orbit white commercial just cheesing. Almost every mazda dealership i've been to in my area has at least 1 MS3. Think of it like this..

Why would mazda sell out a 07 car in 06? I've heard the same.. only 5k made, but i'm sure there would be some around in March.. but maybe not mid year of 07.

As just like you.. i'm going to wait until Feb or March before I get mine..

I would be surprised very little if they did an '07.5 model and changed up a few things and offered more colors. I'd be very surprised, however if they sold out alltogether.

I would be pissed if I bought a sunlight silver car and then they came out with a refresh in Gunmetallic /cry

Try the PX/BX car sales and see if you can get a discount, I was station 5 times in korea and order a new car for less than one could buy in the states. On my way back thru the freedom plane from osan a.b. i stop for three days at japan and went to the factory to see the assembly line and where one could pickup a new car, and drive it for 3 days in japan, then take it to the port to shipped to the states. Just try it if you can. zoomzoom

Sorry to here that, but try looking at yakota air base in japan if you can, maybe you can still order a car thru any special programs they might have there. See if at the PX at yongsan thru the ford vendor if you can order one. Good luck. zoomzoom (1982-1985, 1987-1989) land of the morning cum

Im sure you'll be doing great things to your MS3 when u finally pick one up. Your Turbo'd P5 was clean witha touch of rice :D Yours will definitely stand apart from the rest.

Touch of rice eh? Oh well I always liked asian food. I'll probably go a lot more subtle with this one.

Lol....yea the car itself is a great platform to begin with. Not too much more you can do to it before u start to go over board. Wheels and a nice suspension set-up will do wonders to it.

where do I stop tho, 300whp, 350? Aftermarket turbo to 450? >.< hard to choose lol

Stock block can hit bout 400wheel. Good ol' Juan at Hiboost can fix u past 500 if you want :D

I emailed mazda asking about new colors but they never responded to me. I assumed they wouldnt tell me but to not even reply kinda upset me.

I would kill for the galaxy silver mica dark looking grey color on the non turbo mazda3. oh mang

interesting enough, I was reading Road and Track real close, and in their review of the mazdaspeed3, they said "...considering Mazda will only be importing 5000 of these per year." Note the per year, and not finality of only 5,000. Seems like an insinuation of running this production longer than just a special edition of one year, which of course sounds smart on a money making stand point.

Hello Mr. Equinox! Hope things are going well for you. If it helps at all, Mazda of Clear Lake is getting one or two in December. I am not sure of model, color etc. If it were me, I would wait a bit to see how things go with the car. They look great in person but I haven't taken one for a spin yet. Probably won't be more fun than your P5!

Actauly I have two dealerships begging me to buy their Speed GTs, one blue and one silver. Got them both down to 23k even. No way in hell I'm gonna buy a blue one though. Seems business around Christmas is slow.
