I just bought a '07 MS6 and plan to upgrade to wider wheels and tires. I would prefer 17" diameter over 18" diameter for tire selection and ride comfort.
Are there any known 17x8 wheels that fit a 245 tire without rubbing? Specifically I am looking to fit the Bridgestone RE-01R 245/45/17 which has a 9.6" section width (1.1" wider than stock).
I see that the Enkei GTC-01 is available in 17x8 ET48, which would be about the perfect offset to maintain stock clearance between tire and strut. I'll do some measurements and see if I have .55" between the OEM tire and suspension/fender tonight. I would prefer not to roll the fenders, and I don't plan to lower the car.
