Where do you live and where did you buy the tires at?

I bought the tires on Big O Tires, first time i had then change my tires, before i used to do with sears (witch i never had a problem), but for my protege sears had the most expensive tires ever.

Well about the warranty i guess i just have to call the dealer amd check.

LOL I work at a sears here in michigan (they will match the price btw). Now that you know most likely what the problem is as explained by girth and I, take it back and raise hell to get it done right. There's no reason you (or anyone) should have to spend $200 to get it done right.....it's not that hard to do.

It took me forever to find but this guy is the best tire balancer in the entire continental US. I only take my wheels to him now.

That's pretty damn impressive....I wish there was a place like this where I live.

hehe good idea, but i doubt they will do anything different. The maneger was very rude today, the third time i went there with this problem. He acctualy want me to spend 28 buck to inspec my suspension.

No way is a bad balance going to make the wheel shake like that in normal city driving (below 30 mph). I just dont see it. Maybe the cv joints? If you can find a good balance place, and it still doesn't fix it, then you might need to go somewhere and get all your little drivetrain pieces inspected.

girth, how much did that place charge for the balance? I'm getting a new set of tires soon and thinking about trying them out...

It varies - he offers just a "normal" balance job and also what he calls a "micro balance" job that's balanced to 1/20th of an ounce. It also depends on how much weight it takes to balance the wheel (he charges by the ounce). His prices are posted on that site somewhere.

Every time I've gone there I've gotten the micro balance and it usually ranges between $10 and $15 per wheel. That's usually more expensive than a regular tire shop but it's definitely worth it IMO.

You should definitely go there since you're pretty close to him. It sucks for me because I'm a long ways away from him and also you have to take your wheels in seperately (off the car) and leave them with him for at least a day. So it's not really even an option for you if you don't have an extra set of wheels.

I got a set of rims in the mail right now, so it'll work fine for me!

well thx guys, i didnt had time to check with my dealer about my wrranty, but i will today, i probaly will end up checking my suspension just to make sure.

One thing i noticed today was, when i'm driving a straight line it doest shackes (just a little), it gets worse when i'm doing a right curve (then its when starts to shackes a lot), when i'm back to a straight line it gets way better.

How often the Shocks need to be changed?

Oh, 1 more thing, it's NOT a bad wheel bearing because if the bearing is bad enough to make the wheel shake, you'd definitely hear it "groaning" as you drive down the road.

Not necessarily. I bent my rear/right wheel bearing, it shook like hell..no groaning sound..

Shocks every 100k or so (there's no set time, it's just when handling gets bad or struts start leaking). It's probably not your shocks though....my car did the exact same thing simply because the tires were out of balance.
