i think i am going to buy rims. can't decide though. i know i want rotas. either the slipstream or the subzero. if i get the sub-z i will get 17, the slipstream 16. either way i am getting black. my p5 is white. what does everyone think? thanks

Do you have pics of those wheels, it would help a great deal. I'm too lazy to start looking around the net to find them.

Big fan of the subzeros. Really like how they look in Gunmetal, but I'm betting the black would be nice also.
Good luck on the purchase, and post some pics once you get 'em!

thanks for your opinions. if i can i will be getting the sub-zeros. i am talking to a guy about it through email. if he can get the correct offset that is. his price is better than i have seen anywhere else so hopefully it won't fall through.

i perfer 17" rims ...
since our original rims are 16" ...
then why dont you get those 17" for your car ...
and that will be looks great on your car ....
i hope i can see your car's picture after you have changed your rims ...
and i think white rims will be looks great on your P5, too ...

thanks rishie but i am on your site drooling everyday. i would rather buy from you and sean since you guys have done the fitting for us. i did not know if you would match prices. the rims are my birthday present from my folks and i will buy the tires. i want to have them mounted and balanced but i am concerned about shipping. if you guys would let me know an exact price on the sub-zero in 17 and black. that would be great. i would need to know the price of the rims and tires separate. sorry for the trouble. you can email me at jsgolfer@hotmail.com thanks

thanks for the opinions. it looks like i will go with the slipstreams in flat black. i am such a big fan of the spoon sport wheels so that is probally why i choose this wheel. should look dope though on my white wagon. i am waiting to hear back from rishie on a final price. hopefully i'll have em soon.

ps. thanks for you help rishie!

i'm also torn between the 17" subzeros and the 16" slipstreams.

yes, the stockers are 16" rims, but they're also 16x6", and weigh in at about 18-19lbs (guesstimate). the slipstreams are a 16x7" wheels, +45 offset, and weigh 13.5lbs! so, you can run a 215/45/16 falken azenis (my plan ;) ), get tons of grip and better acceleration.

but, on the other hand, the 17x7.5" subzeros look badass, and weigh 16.5lbs. still, 3lbs is a quite a lot considering how underpowered our cars are (P5).

rishie, your custom fitment from rota, is that an increased offset?(+50?)

if i get the slipstreams, it'll be gunmetal or bronze (i have a silver p5). if i get the subzeros, it'll be gold. wheee! :D

Our stock aluminum wheels weigh only 16 lbs.

so that must mean that the stock 195/50/16 sp5000's weigh in at 21.5lbs....kinda heavy for that size tire.

where did you find that info? i've been looking for a while, hadn't found anything...

It was on another thread here...one of the guys asked the dealer.

Thought I'd revive this thread in case anyone was wondering. On the Dunlop site for P195/50R16 the tire weight is 20.1 lbs. Since 'herarety' posted that wheel+tire weigh 37.5 lbs that would lead me to 17.5 lbs per wheel. I know, I know....that was some tough math. Man now I'm tired....I think I'll go nap.
THat's the weight for the "chrome" style alloy. The painted aluminums are a lb less.

decision made. i am getting the slipsteam. 16x7 in black. order them from rishie yesterday. hopefully they will be here within the next week or so. thanks rishie. everyone, let me take this chance to give auto r&d their props. very responsive to all my questions and an overall joy to deal with. even matched a price. thanks
