I just had a rear wheel bearing go bad in my Mp3 because of water getting into the seal. Long story short, I noticed the problem when the car was making a grinding sound but ignored it cause I needed new rear brakes. Anyhow, after the wheel bearing was replaced I still seem to here the same noise.

Has anyone else has this problem.

BTW, I know Ive been gone for a while, but I still have the car obviously and she is a little different.

I had to get both of my rears replaced because the road salt got in there and rusted them from the inside.

You want to get both wheel bearings done. I had this problem on 2 other cars before my protege. If you think you've figured out which one is bad, get it replaced, and still hear noise, it's probably the other one. I'm talking 2 front or 2 rear.

I had mine done for free (warranty) and you should still be covered. If you have the suspension or wheels modified you're definately void. I'd take it to the dealer anyways because you need some heavy duty tools to do a wheel bearing. It's a sealed assembly, so you don't have to worry about pressing bearings, but you need some specialty tools and a strong impact wrench to get the old ones off the car.

i had my front driver wheel bearin replaced. now it makes a clickin noise when i push on the clutch. and when i release the clutch, if not a smooth s***, then it would make these horrible cracking noises, like metal hitting metal. does anyone know wat happnes if you dont use wheel bearin grease? i couldnt find any anywhere, so i just used some grease that i had, it said universal or something like that. does anyone know if that would make my noise?

Ok, if you had it replaced and it's not working right, you have every right to get it looked at again, free.

There is no grease, it's a sealed bearing.

Either your clutch is bad (I doubt since this happened right when you get new bearings), or there is something wrong with the way the bearing was assembled. You could have brake bolts loose as far as anyone knows.

Go back to the place you had it installed and ask them to check to see if it was installed correctly.

i did it myself. i had ot get a new knuckle, because mine was bent. so i had to replace my wheel bearing. im pretty sure me and my dad installed everything right. we made sure the bolts were tightned too. but i think im goin to have to bring it to mazda dealership to look at instead. i cant fidn the problem.

Im still getting the same noise from the same side. I think i might have gotten a dud for a replacement. I out of my warentee cause the car is 4yrs old. So I have to fork out the $$$ to get it fixed.
