What's next for the CX-5?

I'm still interested if the new hybrid has a conventional transmission (non-CVT). I haven't seen anything clearly announced. Until then, it's all speculation.

Where are you getting the steering wheel and screen info? That article didn't say anything about the interior (no photos either). It would make sense they update the wheel to look like their other offerings and screen size has increased three times in the current gen CX-5's run so it likely will go to 12" this time around.

My interest is the dimensions. It appears the headroom will improve in back as the roofline is less raked. Hopefully we get more rear seat legroom.

The Skyactiv-Z hybrid will not be available in the CX-5 until 2027. The presentation found in the press release mentioned it will be based on the 2.5l.

Large infotainment screen (prob the one from the cx70/90) from the looks of it. The front except the new headlights seems similar to what we have today. We know the rear would be quite different.
The body dimensions seems like the current CX5

The roofline is less sloped towards the rear. The rear profile looks more like the CX70/90.

Seems like that "leaked" pic is generated based on the spy pics and not the actual vehicle. In the spy pics, it doesn't seem to be so pronounced, I wouldn't be surprised if we see something similar to the CX-60/70/80/90 frontend, pushed forward, bold and expansive (as apposed to sleeker and pulled back a bit).

LOL. I myself was questioning it being a real photo. The slope of the roofline towards the rear is much greater on this image than what we saw from the camouflaged photos.
