MPI will pass no problem.
How did he pass? Was it just a one time fix to get the sticker and then set it back the way it was?

MPNick said:It would be nice if just one of them could do what the MPI does in all areas. To date not one has made as much power per lbs of boost. Not one runs as clean. Not one as the cold starting of the MPI.
So I do not see how you can make that statement, not based on any facts. Just your opinion based not on any facts or real world everyday driving.

I get better gas mileage now than I ever did stock, and i dont have any cold starting problems anymore. It cranks instantly, better than it did stock. And i live where it gets ******* COLD.
BlkZoomZoom said:Ahem... He knows someone that can work magic (me). We had to take the Haltec out and re-wire the stock pcm, then drive it so all the monitiors would set. He hasn't wired the Haltec back in because he kept fouling plugs out last year on cold starts and doesn't want to start that again this year.
Needless to say I offered to wire up a Mpi if he gets one.

Dynojet coversion puts it about 255.3hp and 293.4 tq. Pretty decent for the stock snail. I've never drag raced it, and really dont plan too to be honest. And that was with the #2 cylinder not fully firing due to a fouled spark plug.BlkZoomZoom said:So thats what 245-250whp if convert it like people like to do? I dunno if thats the highest or not. Maybe highest recorded on a dyno. Do me a favor and tell me the mph you get in the 1/4.
I'm guessing 104-105... Let me know if you hit over 106, thats what I got on the stock turbo.
Oh that was with the Mpi

MPNick said:I call BS. You had a 14psi spike for one and no way in hell would a Dyno Jet show that kind of power. Go on a Dyno Jet and post the file. Then lets see where you are.
Do not even compare the two dynos like that, total BS. Dyno Jet the car and then come back with the files.
daedalus said:God man, i know that you are the "know it all" but nothing is ever good enough for you. But when you post up comments like that, why the **** would i ever want to spend any money with you? You sound ignorant. I didnt post the conversion numbers for the exact reason that you would flip s*** over it, but they were asked for. I posted up mustang dyno numbers... you gonna call bulls*** on that too? Or is that dyno file not good enough for you either? Maybe i conjured that out of thin air too? Why the **** would i want to tune my car on a dynojet to begin with? Its a commonly known fact that you get a more accurate tune with a loaded drivetrain, so i got tuned on the only mustang dyno in town. But dont you worry, i'm getting tuned again in the spring on the mustang and going down to a dynojet to get my internet number so you dont have to call B.S. on me. OR heres an original thought, why dont you go make a run on a mustang dyno and post up your numbers?
ANd the 14psi spike is only on tip in at around 3200rpms and settles out by 4000rpms... But i guess thats too much to be true, so its BS!
JBreed said:ok, I run the MPI with the J&S, and I have it setup to detect detonation, and pull timing per cylinder as needed. If you say "no way" then what is it doing in your opinion? and how do you support your answer?
My understanding is the J&S pulls timing according to detection of detonation per cylinder, please elaborate in full...
Thanks in advance, Jim
It is very simple in the theory, our ignition systems have 2 coils for 4 cylinders. Two cylinders get fired in (almost) the exact same time by the same coil. Therefore you cannot retard timing to only one cylinder, its impossible.
