What shoud be my offer for this miata

2002 LS w/ 61,000 miles. Black w/ tan leather. It's got a bunch of chrome cosmetic upgrades (vent surrounds, door sills, etc.) It's pretty much stock except an AEM intake. It was supposedly owned by a Miata enthusiast who just upgraded to an '06.

They've got it listed at $14,975, which seems to be about right according to kbb, nada, edmunds, etc. But I was just wondering if you miata folks had some insight or advice. Or warnings about anything I should look out for.

I made him an offer this morning. I told him I'd give him $12k for the miata and that I wanted $14k for my MSP.

Yeah, I hear that's high miles, but man this thing is in pristine shape. Not a drop of oil or corrosion anywhere. It looks brand new. And the dealer hasn't even detailed it yet.

Plus the idiot dealer already let on that he "wanted" my MSP for the showroom.

Nice. It's not a lot of miles for a Miata, it's just a lot of miles for 3-ish years of use. My '97 didn't have a lot more than that when I sold it early this year.

BTW I got out the door for $12,800 financed (after all I still owed $12k for the MSP) And my insurance went down about $70/mo.

That's true, but I aleady have an 87 MR2, an 01 New beetle, and a 93 windstar (WOOT!)... and no more parking spaces.

My wife will be sad that her VW has to park in the street now... HA!
