What kinda times should I be running at the track?

Well Im hoping to hit the track next week on open street night, and I wanna see what you guys think I should be running. All my mods are in my sig, and I have the stock tires on still with about 60% tread left on them. Assuming decent weather conditions and a good launch, what should my car be able to hit???

Thanks Guys!

How good are you gonna launch and drive .. On a hot day with my car bakeing the intake temp (read by lazer) was about 205 ! I have bald tires , Bad Heat soak bone stock with a 80lbs Subwoofer and speaker set up!
Bad wheel hop with soft launch I ran 15.5 at 87.9 MPH

So at the track you want no slip of the front tires right? It seems I can pull off the line a little faster if I let them chirp just slightly.
Also, last time I was at the track (not racing) it seemed they hit the gas right as the last yellow was about to go. The reaction time and 1/4 time starts the instant that green hits but to get like a .1 reaction you want to start on end of last yellow. Hope this makes sense... dunno, maybe it was just that track.... but that is what it seemed. For those that have run tracks many times... what has been your experience? Thanks!

.1 is bad. that is a red light. the best you can get is a .500, and that is a perfect launch.

i think you should at least get a 14.5-14.8.

im running a cai, 2.5 exhaust, and an ebc 10 psi and the best i got was a 14.5 and a lot of burn out. with a .6 something reaction. also with 22 psi in tires.

check out the 1/4 mile thread,it can help you get an idea of what kind of time you should get.

you gonna post times when you finally run?

I have the split second afc, a turbo xs mbc, and the corksport full race exhaust, first time out on street tires i went 14.6@ 95mph smoking the tires until 5000 rpm's in 2nd then i went to slicks and went 13.83@103mph so needless to say i like the slicks.

it depends, if you can hook up right off the line and go then no traction is a bad thing because you will just spin like crazy, but most people hook and bog, so a little bit of tire slipage allows you to stay within a reasonable power range and pull away quicker... basically, low HP = slip the tires a little bit, high HP = dump it and hold on :D...

and no, the 1/4 mile time does not start being recorded until you leave the line, you can have a 2 minute reaction time, and still run a 10 second 1/4 mile, the reaction time has ntohing to do with your overall 1/4 mile time, the only thing it is good for is if you are running a headsup race, then whoever can get off the line faster and down the track quicker will win...

and like already mentioned, a .1 is a terrible R/T, means you premied all over the track, a perfect R/T is .500, closest i've ever gotten is a .510, but i have seen many people get it dead nut at .500 without running timing equipment...

i will bet that this guy runs an 18 his first time out at the track, it happens to everyone and its just because they dont have a feel for racing on a dragstrip, as the day progresses he will bring his times down, i highly doubt he will hit a very respectable time but who knows, he might, i'll bet by the end of the day he has a 15 second time slip though... go out and have fun, dont worry to much about beating any world records tho ;)...

I think you can do better than a 15 for sure. Depending on your skill I would hope you would hit mid 14's. I've gotten low 14's with very few mods and 8psi.
