I am friggen sick to death of people saying they don't need a competition system or there not going to compeat then they mention an entry level peice. (I'm not hitting anyone specific here, all you guys are great and I love how everyone participates and helps each other out.)
Competition vechicals that do well aren't all about equipment. It install. The guys that do well in competitions put hundreds of hours into there ride, not just an afternoon installing an amp. At competition level the equipment becomes less important then the time and technique. You could buy 2 12W7s all JL amps the Alpine F1 status audio control 1/3 octive EQs on every channel and the best focal speakers all around. YOU WILL STILL LOOSE.
It takes an incredible installer to win a competition or to even stand a chance. I met a guy this summer that spent over a 100 hours just aiming ambiant tweeters. Thats more then most poeple spend on the whole damn system. You may recall Steve Browns Alpine BMW M3. It was one of the most incredible cars ever put into competition. Every peice of the inside of the car was remade. He had all the best equipment. Him and fellow installer Chris Yato spent over 1000 hours on the car.
He got second!
