What is your downpipe set up? Full DP? Race or test pipe?

corksport tp leaks w/o the dp. recommend the speed action tp from ebay for $140 if you don't want a dp.

you need not worry about cels, backpressure, or noise w/ a tp.

that 2nd cat is ghey and needs to be removed.

this is not true i am running a corksport DP with a PG test pipe and it doesn't leak

So is there a difference between test pipe and race pipe or can the terms be used interchangeably

why dont you get the cobb catted dp for 695 instead of paying 750 for the cp-e. quality is ATLEAST as good as the cp-e..and you save money.....(ugh)

I drive a MS6, I cross posted to this forum to see about strictly Cat vs Non-cat setups. Cobb doesn't make a DP for the MS6.

Now I understand those 1.9 second 60 ft times -- MS6 is AWD! So you launch way harder than we do, but you have more weight. Once you get above 60 mph, weight to horsepower ratio starts entering the picture and that's killing you on the top end of the strip.

Your car weighs almost 3600 lbs, while we weigh 400 pounds less. That's a big difference and the main reason your quarter times are quite a bit slower even with the excellent launches. The general rule is there is a difference of one tenth second per 100 lbs of weight at 100 mph trap speeds in cars that weigh 3000-3500 pounds. It's just an estimate, but it is a good beginning point to understand the effect of weight on performance.

You need that DP bad to close that gap some. Go catless if you can do so - catless DP/RP. You'll build power across the entire power band. And flat shift (power shift - keep the go pedal on the floor) at 5500 rpm, if you are not already doing so. You can pick up a tenth of a second per shift that way.

Disregard all that baffled race pipe stuff wherever that came from. On turbocharged sports sedan type cars, test pipe=race pipe. Neither has baffles. Period.

in that case why not try n get in touch with specvspeedfreak and get a stainless works catted/catless combo and save 100 bucks on a cobb, and save even more money..

no that was for the DP comment for an MS3.

if the MS3 DP will work for an MS6, then it might be something you wanna look into. Thats his username on this board, as well as 3forums.

I don't think the DP's for the MS6 are shaped quite the same and would probably not fit.

OP will have to go with one made model specific for the Speed6. CPE has a well-designed product that can be ordered with or without cat and is available from several of our vendors.

wait im confused, i thought the OP had a speed 3, but Marauder was just asking a question

My exhaust is all stock but I'll be going with the corksport downpipe + speedaction test pipe combo here shortly.
