What is this?

someone told me this is out of a mazda of some sort. Any help?

It's an engine. Probably an RX-7.
It has twin turbos

I'm not that knowledgeable on rotaries, but why are there 8 intake runners going to the plenum on that thing (as in V-8)?

thats exactly what i thought.

Blow the picture up and you can see an 8 cyl distributor cap. My guess is it's a BMW.

Story behind that pic is that im looking at an 85 RX7 and the lady said that she has that engine to go with it and its out of a mazda. Thats all she knows about it.

Porche 928. 5.4l v8 close to 300 hp I think. Not bad for a free engine.
