What is the Idle of your MP3?

I got my car back today and it seems to be idleing rough and I can't remember what it use to idle at. Just wanted to check with some other owners. Thanks

It idles at around 700 RPM. Your car will never idle the same as when it was brand new. Mine idles close to very perfect, but not like when it was brand new. Oh, and congrats on getting your RIDE BACK MAN!!:D

try resetting the ECU to get your normal idle - if it aint right..

Just remove yoru positive terminal on your battery, let sit for 10 minutes, then reconnect and start car, let it idle for five minutes, and then turn off car. then you shoudl idle normaly next time you drive (AFTER the car warms up)

Thanks Patrick and it idles at 700 now but it just dosent feel right, it feels like it wants to die at times and the CEL came on 2 times yesterday. When I took it back to the mechanic for him to read what the codes were that were throwig the CEL it said random misfire both times. He wants me to run the motor for a few hundred miles and see if it doesn't get better. Other than the rough idle it feels Great! The motor mounts are awsome with them being most noticable at idle and the stage 1 cltuch kit feels good and the kartboy shifter is nice and tight, however I would like a bigger knob. I got the kartboy knuckle ball knob and my hand just swallows it. I would like to have the stock knob but as far as the shifts go I can't complain, they are nice and tight!

Do the motor mounts eliminate the bouncing that you get when coming off the line at lower RPMs? The shaking and bouncing I get at about 1500-2000 rpms is horrible, and if that fixes it, I'll be getting them.

Thanks in advance.

I only put in the front motor mount and it definitely helps the wheel hop at LOWER rpms, but it still exsists at higher RPMs.

Well since I just got the car back and I still have about a 500-1000 mile break in period I haven't found out about the wheel hop yet, but as soon as I get her broke in I will give you all a full report of my opinion of the mounts. I can't wait for the end of my break in period :D

I had a CEL the 1st day I got my car back. I drove it home from work about 50 mi, and parked it. I went out a couple of hours later, started it, and it was gone. I'm guessing that it had something to do with the MAF Sensor being dirty for sitting in a dusty shop for a month.

Well mine says random misfire when he checks it with his computer. I thought that a CEL had to be cleared with a computer, but your saying that it can reset itself? Hmm....I wish I knew what was causing the misfire.

How much of a difference is the kartboyshifter from the factory shifting? also how much did you pay for the motor mounts and shifter and knob? Thanks!

Yeah, when I got my car out of the shop the 1st time, it had to be cleared by the mechanic.

how can one read the errors in the ECU? is there an RJ-11 ethernet jack somewhere ;)

My mechanic has this little handheld computer that he can plug into the ECU to read all error codes and what not. I am not sure what it is called but I will find out.

The kartboy shifter is great, nice and tight shifts very precise feeling. I also got the kartboy bushings and I'm sure they helped out too. The kartboy knuckleball knob is quality but to be honest i like my stock Nardi knob better. goto www.kartboy.com to find out pricing.
The motor mounts are worth every penny if you ask me. The only thing is that there is noticable vibration in the cab, but this has to be expected, but if you hate the nasty wheel hop and wont mind the added vibration then I would recommned them. goto www.awrracing.com for more info on those or you can look here http://www.msprotege.com/vbb225/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5949&highlight=motor+mounts
