What have you done to your P5 today?

I removed both belts. The belts have no cracks although the alternator belt has a small rip at the edge. The belts aren't soft as the new ones I got. There is a low sound when i spin the alternator pulley. Alternator bearings are shot?

Anyone ever put led bulbs for their brake lights?

I've done all of my interior. I at least want some for my back up lights. I heard not to do it because the regular bulbs heat up all the moisture in the tail light. If this is true, the moister condensates back into still water and never leaves the tail light since it creates a seal. Also doubt moisture matters with an LED bulb.

I have them in my brake lights in my JDM tails. They are plenty bright and definitely more Red than normal bulbs (I used red LEDs)

I had white ones in my JDM tails and I couldn't see anything. I switched back to my regular bulbs D;

After getting my bent wheel bent back and re-powder coated I put my summer set back on with the new mutekis and the chalkboard hood!

It's been said not to boost the high compression fs ze or you end up with zoom zoom boom. I've also heard instead of taking all the time doing a motor swap and the additional work required in swapping for the high compression motor just to get 49hp, your time is better spent boosting your car

Takes 4 to5 hours to drop in and get it going if you know what your doing. I know a couple of blokes that have had it done,and by the same maztech.Unless i'm missing something about the SP20and the P5 it's a easy job.

Just curious, why the chalkboard hood? It seems that's the new fad that I've seen at my events. Hope I don't sound sarcastic or rude in any manner, you just happen to be someone who I can ask since most of the owners are nowhere to be found at the event. :)

Yeah I've seen it done only a few times in my travels on the internet. It interested me and I wrote it down as a possible mod. Ill be going to Canada for a car show this weekend and my clear coat was embarrassing on my CF hood. Instead of putting my silver stock hood back on I decided to plasti and then paint the cf hood. If I ****** it up I didn't care because I'll re clear it after the show anyway. It's meant as a silly just because temporary fix. Ill either have all my NATOR NY guys draw on it tomorrow at our meet or I might draw a few rage faces on it or make my own rage comic. Toronto or bust! Or whatever. Lol. I don't think it's rude at all. Everything I've learned was because I asked! Hope that answers your question!

Overnight parts from Japan came in:

FYI, the OEM front struts are made by KYB (boo) and the mevotech strut bearings are absolute garbage. I'm installing everything tomorrow, I doubt this it going to work-out well...

Interestingly, the rear ones I ordered from Mazda are Tokicos and that was only a few months ago. I assumed they would use the same brand for the fronts but I guess not :(

As far as i know mazda only put tokico in the 2001 to mid 2002 and then put KYB in the SP20, but who knows what they get up two

Would love to see those. I would probably get them professionally painted (along with the window switches to match the black oem protege radio surround) and cleared by a body shop to promote longevity.

There's a metal pin (I guess you could call it that) that holds everything together. I used a small screwdriver and pushed it threw in order to get it out.
