What have you done to your P5 today?

/\ that sucks, better do it before it starts freezing. my buddy had an old civic that leaked in the rear, then it froze and the backseat became a skating rink :)

That might not be so bad, I could keep my drink cold on the floor and blow the heat up top :D

Maybe I'll get to it over the long weekend, grrrr.

just attempted to install my deatschwerks fuel pump, ******* fail.
Figured it would be easy, but it hits the bottom of the tank when I put it back in, so im at a loss, its dark and im pissed off

DW that's why. lol

When going on the freeway on ramp today at WOT, noticed that there was smoking coming from the exhaust. This covers my theory about my valve seals leaking. I'll probably get to those when I do the timing belt maintenance. =(

Other than that just try to get the urethane to settle so I can mount the Chargespees lip. Kind of a
pain.

Just ordered some Nokian Nordman 2's to replace the WS50's. Going to drop the winter set-up off tonight or tomorrow morning, c'mon ol' man winter...whatcha got? lol

Picked it up after getting the wheel bearing replaced and kicking myself for not doing it myself, but whatever. No time, leaving for the states on friday, etc...

Now I'm ******* ecstatic. I didn't realize how much I LOATHED that noise until it was gone. They didn't charge me for the alignment either, so, for the first time in 14 months, my steering wheel isn't angled to the left while going straight! YAY!!!!

Also going to pick up some motor/gear oil to get that done before I leave, throw together a quick MDF sub box so I can put the spare in and take the false floor out... busy bee.

Mounted my 4ch. to rear seat. Had to fab a bracket to fit the rear seat. Discovered that 2 of my stock wheels are bent(hop when spinning).

I'm wanting RX-8 5 spokes, or some CX-7 Brushed alum mesh style wheels. I think rx-8's are 17x7? Does anyone run these wheels, or know the size on them? I'm about to look in the rx-8 section or cx-7 section to get a set. I might have to roll fenders if either wheels are wider than 7".

rx8 are 18x8 +50 i think is the offset.

once i put this one on, il do my stock cover and sell it here!
lemme know what you think, or any tips would be nice

Congrats, man! I know my next car I want to pay off much sooner than dumping money in mods for it.

I haven't worked on my P5 in a while. I got a new (used) UDP so I might put that on this weekend. And I've got to paint 3 sets of wheels this weekend while it's still nice out.

Spent the afternoon changing my passenger-side steering knuckle assembly.

New VS Old.

I was amazed at how easily everything came apart, with a big-ass hammer I CAN TAKE APART ANYTHING!

You'll notice that the new part is rustier than the old part, that's because it comes from the scrap yard. It's from a 2003 sedan with less than 100K Km, they guarantee it for 1 year so I'm not too concerned. What you can't see in the picture is just how loose the old bearing is (think tijuana hooker loose). I'm pretty sure that's what's been causing the periodic grinding noise I've been hearing from the front end of the car.

You guys will hate me for this, but not only did I reuse the axle nut, but I put the tie-rod end back on with a ripped boot and without a cotter pin. I have no excuse other than laziness for the axle nut, but the tie rod end will be changed-out soon enough, I have a brand new set of Deeza tie rod ends waiting to go on. For now lets hope the old one doesn't fall apart :S

ALSO, it seems that my rotor on that side is indeed warped. I'll probably get that done tomorrow (the local parts store closes at 6). Grrrrrr.

Congrats on paying the car off Ty!

Evan, three sets, which wheels are you painting?

I took advantage of the nice weather today to wash both cars and give them a much needed interior detail. Didn't realize just how many pebbles were around/under my ds floor mat. lol Was hoping to get out and take pics before it got dark but um, yeah that didn't work out.

Meh. Soccer moms have "zoom-zoom" stickers on their CX-7's. Right now my only vinyl is a "zoom-freakin-zoom" decal and the tsunami Mazda sticker. I'll post a pic tomorrow.

ps- you know this is the P5 section, right? ;)

Got a new rotor this morning for the passenger-side, the guy sold me one for a 4-lug protege so I had to go back and get a 5-lug one (luckily the parts store is only a couple minutes away). The rotor I got is made by Parts Master (in China), it has to be the worst rotor I've ever seen (poorly cast vanes, and a small hole in the rotor face). I'd take a $15 C-tek rotor over that crap any day. But such is life, access to decent cheap parts is non-existent here...

Anyway, the old rotor was definitely warped, the new one had less than 0.001" of run-out and braking feels better. So a bad wheel bearing and a warped rotor on the same corner, aren't I a lucky guy?

This afternoon I pulled up the carpet on the passenger side to dry it off, there were a few puddles under there after the week of rain we had not long ago. I also made sure my car fits in the garage nicely so I can put it in there when it rains :P
