What have you done to your P5 today?

-Tinted Windows
-Black Altezza Taillights
-Yellow H3 lights bulbs for fogs
The P5 is coming along nicely :')

Measured the lateral run-out on my front disks this afternoon because I feel a pulsing on the pedal when braking (most notable on the highway). Sadly the measurements I took weren't accurate because I didn't have a good way of tightening down the rotor. I tapped some random nuts [lol] but the threads weren't strong enough to properly hold the rotor to the hub. I'll have to get a box of proper M12 nuts.

Found this today.... picked up two new tires(Nexen 225/40/18 $100 for both) but won't be able to put them on till next Saturday. Looks like I have to get an alignment as well.

I'd say it does need aligned, but also from what I'm seeing with the middle portion of your tread not being worn out like the shoulders are, you should run 3-4 psi higher to get better tire wear & longer life from them rubbers.

Painted one of my Evo wheels, and prepping the others for paint this afternoon. The color is ******* awesome. My buddy told me to go with blue, but I wasnt too sure about it.
The blue actually came out alot darker then I thought it would, almost like a mag blue, and then I cleared the blue with gold pearl. Looks tits

Got word from my sister that it died the other day. Looks like I get to sink more money into that piece of s***.

It was alot of work...shortened rear lateral links by about .5" for more room. Front fenders are about to be cut flared more and fiberglassed to bring down the front a little more and do away with any rubbing.

Well, I learned that my P5 died recently. My sister has had it since January or so. My dad towed it home and said that the alternator belt was shot again. This is the 3rd belt that's snapped. Instantly, two questions came to mind: 1) What's causing the belt to break? 2) How long did she drive it with no water pump?

Answer: The rest of the way to school, then drove it back home again. Probably 15 or 20 miles, depending on when it first snapped. Depending on what the compression test tells me, there may be some parts for sale soon... Then... crushing the ******.

How much tension do you put on the belt? And were they decent quality?

No no, don't crush it, save it for the 2014 RUSTY PROTEGE5 DEMOLITION DERBY/JAMBOREE!

We might end up moving it to 2013 depending on how fast the rust spreads.

All I can twist the belt is a quarter turn. It never squealed or made a noise. The last thing I need to do is store another piece of s*** car for any given amount of time. I'm trying to thin the herd, not keep more.

That sux to hear Phen but part that b**** out and make every last penny you can from her. :) I've been thinking about trading mine in for some time this year (still no idea when that may happen). But the more I think about it, I'll get s*** for her from a dealer since they'll more than likely auction her off so I may just keep her and part her completely out. Figure I might make more than what a dealer will give me for trade...considering the hail damage, rust, mileage, etc....

I have them. Personally, I like them better because I have a black theme going on. They look clean IMO.

Same reason I liked mine and it's all about personal taste. But then a damn good deal came up for some JDM's and I just couldn't pass it up. :)

ordered some new housings for a projector project! :D

Nice! Now stop teasing and share with the rest of the class! haha

Does it still have the passenger-side splash guard? Maybe something's getting thrown up into the belt from the road.

I fear over-tightening those belts so when I tighten them I make sure to get a 2-3cm deflection when pressing down on the middle of the longest run between pulleys. If/When they squeal, I tighten them up. The problem with all of these rules of thumb is that no one applies the same force to the belt when testing tension; maybe you're just REALLY STRONG :P
