would anyone recommend for a guy on a budget just to get snow chains instead of $300 new front snow tires... kinda skeptical about getting them and worried they mite scuff my rims paint. any thoughts?

When you say new snow tires for the front, do you currently have them on the rear? Not wise to mount only two snow tires on a FWD vehicle.

Yup, those are LEDs... and IIRC, they are wrapped with CF vinyl?
