What have you done to your P5 today?

So i went to the kitchen with my silicone coupler and searched for something that would fit. Korean BBQ sauce FTW. screwed in a air fitting and got some RTV. Test went well. Found just one big spot between the SC outlet and SC outlet pipe. (the flat piece, i guess i didnt RTV enough)

even if im leaking im still boosting 6ish psi. I probably wont be able to fit it till tomorrow. But after that I should be boosting 9psi (with the .5psi loss for the IC)

Im starting to get all the info i need to start on my exhaust, Scratch is also hooking me up with a new intake manifold to port and polish (plates removed) I think after that im going to hit up the dyno.
 
^^^Most definitely...anything else off the P5 you want me to throw in the box...lol...I should hopefully have it ready to go by the end of the week...
 
Any aftermarket on the car is available as well...just saying...got a good bit of that...not to mention I have even more parts sitting at the house not even in FS threads...haha...
 
I crossed 105k, so I got an estimate for timing belt/water pump replacement.
 
^water pump and timing belt is SUPER easy on these cars, if you get it done, your going to get ripped off big time
i can change out a timing belt in around 40 mins, water pump is prob another 30...so all in all i would say roughly 2 hours start to finish

Unless you're going to do it for him, it'll take way more that 2 hours. Especially if it's his first time, he's looking at a weekend of slow and nervous wrenching.

You have no idea... My hand was literally shaking when I went to start the car after I changed my timing belt + water pump. I had spent over a month studying the procedure and preparing all the materials, but I was still nervous because I'm not very confident in my abilities as an amateur mechanic.

The job itself went very smoothly (besides getting coolant all over my face when I popped off the old water pump), but I believe that's only because I memorized the procedure. If I had to do it again it certainly wouldn't take me as long nor would I be as nervous but that's only because I now have practical experience.
 
yea...i guess your right
i have a few timing belts on a bunch of different makes under my belt so i guess it would be easier for me...

if you dont feel comfortable doing it, then dont, simple as that...i like doing hands on s*** and figuring out how stuff works, so i take everything apart on my car lol
oh and FYI, these motors (though all paperwork says otherwise) are non interference, Ive tested it multiple times spinning the crank without the timing belt on, and no valves hit...
so if you mess up, all you really have is a bad running car, or a non running car lol no damage done
 
Well overdue = metal on metal. ;) Unfortunately, I've done that thanks to sticking rear calipers.
 
There was a guy in Tennessee just a day or two ago that had bad condition P5 wheels for free pickup...username started with a "B"...anyone know where to find the link or who it was...I have a friend that was from his same town that needs them for his P5 right now pretty bad...

yeah it wasn't as bad as i thought.. i hardly drive that car and my wifey finally told me they been makin that noise and then she was like yeah its been doin it bout a month now haha women......
 
washed it and pretty much decided im gonna sell it in the spring, fwd just doesn't make sense for my plans, power!
 
Replaced a smashed front washer pump and almost cried at the damaged lock rings on my new coil overs after running over a piece of shrapnel doin 90km/h on the freeway. I couldn't avoid it... it looked like an a/c pump, and it came bouncing along from 3 lanes over. there was a semi one one side, a concrete divider on the other, and a f350 on m ass. no where to go...
i thought my life was gonna end then and there =b
