What have you done to your P5 today?

Got some tribute washer nozzles and put my hatch trim back on but two of the clips won't go in. It was too cold out so I'll look at it on the weekend. Also ordered a mz6 wiper arm.

All this talk if kl swapping is almost making me want to do the swap instead of a turbo fs... I've got more than enough room to keep all the parts while working on it on our acerage.

Do the KL swap. Even and N/A KLZE with bolt on's will put you around 165whp. Then you can boost it. ;)
I'm not one to bash the FS-DE because mine has 128k miles on it and still runs great and doesn't burn oil but they just aren't performance motors. Plus a boosted V6 in your P5 would be hott (and quick).

i dont think you would want to boost a ZE....but yea, a turbo V6 would be sick
i was looking at vids on youtube, and couldnt really find one that sounded good though, which is a problem for me lol
i dont want to have a fast car, and have it sound like a civic

You couldn't find a KL-ZE that didn't sound good? I don't think I've ever heard one that didn't sound completely incredible. For whatever reason, that engine sounds just awesome. Closest thing I can compare it to, honestly, is a VQ35. Just sounds so good.

Did some small stuff while I was at work. Got the rest of the A/C lines out, made plans for relocating my coolant tank into or near the hole on the drivers side of the engine bay. Also planning something of a small wire tuck and general clean up of the engine bay.

KL-DE, i dont want a ZE, im going to boost it

and no lol i couldnt find one that sounded good, that one doesnt really sound to great either
i want a deep exhaust notem that just sounded like a bunch of bee's...

on a fsde its very easy to make 165whp lol although i been debating a built fsde VS a kl swap.. but even on a boosted kl i only seen someone make what ways it like 260whp?? n i'm doin that already on a stock fsde engine. soo i kinda don't see the point except that itll be cool to have a boosted v6 ina protege lol

justanother- yeah man i kno exactly what you mean.. but most those honda dudes jist run straight pipe all the way back no cat's no resinators nothin so its sounds like ass.. to mee its like throwin rocks in a can and shakin it lmao.. i use to have a civic and had the greddy evo and that thing sounded sweet.. if it were me personally i'd get a hks high flow muffler and have a custom exhaust welded up to it at a shop.. round here bout $150 wud do the trick.. my cuddy did that to his srt4.. he wanted to be different and got rid of the dual exhaust and put on the custom hks sounds hella good tho

I mean to make 165whp with an FS-DE reliably would be tough and without a daily headache. How much boost are you running to get 260 whp on your stock FS-DE? I'm not bashing the FS or you or anything. I'm just saying it might be best to start with more of a performance motor from Mazda as a platform. I don't plan on trying to achieve a ton of horsepower anyway. My P5 is still my DD.

I agree that the KLZE's I've heard are kinda raspy. I know the Pace Setters headers make the most power but they also sound raspy. I have a GReddy EVO2 cat back in the garage so I plan on swapping out the CorkSport muffler for my GReddy muffler when the swap is in for the midpipe to be fabricated from a muffler shop. That should sound pretty good.

Your best bet is a KL frankenstein. And just because it has higher compression (i.e. the ZE), doesn't mean you can't boost it. ;)

KL's make 350 whp easily. On stock internals, no less. So many more options with the K series motors vs. F series.

Is the block you're buying used?

I could make you a custom coolant tank that fits PERFECTLY into that hole. My tanks are 3" diameter and that hole is 3.5" diameter. Any color you want too.

Took some metal out of my fresh kmr tie bar. Wish it didn't hang so low. And my car isn't even that low. :(

hmmm.... can you elaborate here please? the bar is 1/2" thick. To gain a 1/4" even would be cutting it in half. Or did you mean you had to make room for the oil pan AND it hangs too low?

Too much hp in a front wheel drive car makes about as much sense as taking a prostitute to dinner. Spend a **** ton of money to get you absolutely nowhere, and for no reason.

Quick wash and replaced drivers side head light. Some reason I grabbed a pair of 9005 SilverStar's too, might high beams are fine.
