What have you done to your P5 today?

washed it since someone egged it, ****.

i missed getting an egg tossed out of a random apartment building window Friday by a few feet as i drove by.

But as to Callie's, it's waxed and shiny again. The hood and roof had the clear coat buffed off and was looking like crap

Oil change. Got the regular oil for now. Was going to ask if anyone suggests using a syn or synblend? I don't have time nor am I home enough to change my own anymore, just too much going on, so was curious if it was worth it for the 2.0L to spend a few extra on oil.

If it's always used mineral oil, stick with that.

I use Castrol Full Synthetic in my FS-DE because I like using quality products and taking very good care of my car. If anything, I like the piece of mind too. A lot of people will say it's not worth it or don't waste your money, yada yada yada. But I've been using synthetic oil and premium fuel since I bought my P5 3 years ago. 128k miles and still running strong if that can attest to my logic. Take care of your car, wash/wax, keep it clean, regularly schedule maintanence, quality parts/products. But when it comes down to it, it's your call, mate. :)

did a seafoam cleaning.. added it to the brake booster while running.. but didnt turn off the engine after that..revved it up for a min or 2. blew alot of smoke..(neighbor actually came over and asked if my car was gunna explode LOL).. it threw a CEL so i unplugged the terminal and waited a lil while. and then put it back on,put the other half of the can into the oil. and about a 45 mins later took it for a ride around the block.. no CEL. and it seemed fine. better actually. a little less hesitation. idk ill be able to tell more when i drive it for over an hour to and from class tm.
Also took of the front license plate and suction cupped it in the front windshield. had it just wedged, but it flew out onto my lap in the middle of a turn so i had to use 2 suction cups. looks alot cleaner with no front plate. Next is to remove the bottom front grill. anyone have any ideas for that? or should i jsut take it off?

Just because I'm not using synthetic oil doesn't mean I don't take car of my car :)

I just don't see the benefit, I buy quality oil (pennzoil) and change it often (at least every 5000KM). That's what the owner's manual says so I stick to it.

As for gas, I don't bother with premium but I do stick with shell because they're supposed to offer higher detergent levels in their gas than other companies (it does help that there's one near my house :P).

If I had more money I'd probably be doing exactly what you're doing, but for the time being I think I'll be just fine.

I use quailty oil because I abuse my car.

For everyday use and sunday driving just go with the regular oil.

Thanks for the feedback on the oil. I have been used to a german I-6 that wanted Mobil 1, so learning the changes of the different engine.

Most of my driving is stop and go on the highway, or 80ish on the same highway.

Forgot to say I put some Seafoam in the crankcase about 10 miles before the oil change and the rest of the bottle in the gas tank. Look forward to any results. I did try 89 octane in my last tank, and weirdly my mpg went down nearly a full mpg. I will give it another try next tank to get an average and see if it is worth it.

ordered my tokico blue struts. Within a few days im going to get some new end-links and a new rear sway-bar. any suggestions or anything on protege garage good quality enough?
