What have you done to your P5 today?

got my motor mount in today from ebay. the passenger side one doesnt have the mounting flange so i dont see at all how it could be used. also the rubber in the mount is a different shape so it wouldnt work with the awr inserts. oh well just gotta spend around $10 to ship them back

That sucks

Planning how im going to do my intercooler today so I can order whatever parts I need. Im going to try to weld what I can and use only the couplers that I need.

you can weld alum? thats awesome...wish i had a ****** tig welder :(

and today drove it, got back, and looked at the lip, im thinking about repainting it all the color of the car, or all black, not sure which one ill like though
i may just borrow my brothers CF lip to see what all black will look like

Was able to sneak in a emergency wash and waxing session last night. It has just been flat out crap weather for a while now and I need to get the paint and trim ready for the bad months. So I know it needs one more polish/sealant/glaze treatment before the weather will not allow it, and at least 2 more waxes to build up a good coat to last the season. I tried out some new wax too, it was only $3 at BigLots. I snapped a quick shot before the light was bad to see how it looked wiped off and applied and the bottle. This was only my first time using this wax, so I think it is too early to form an opinion of it just yet.

looking at the one i can get from rock auto, it seems like the insert wont work either based on the rubber design

so should try and find one from a car in a junk yard or what should i do here?

Im actually going to use MIG with aluminum wire feed with 100% argon.

Im going to try and do something like this.

ahh ok, that routing should be pretty easy, as long as u have access to a few random bends
and thanks for the the pm lol i like it too (thumb)

oh and make sure it clears the bumper before you do the final welding on it, i had to cut a s*** load out of my bumper to get my setup to fit

oh yea of course. I still have to wait a couple of weeks for my 90* couplings to get in. (mishimoto @ amazon has them cheap $10 a piece) So every weekend till then ill be cutting, fitting, and welding to make sure everything fits up nice. The only hard part right now is getting the supercharger outlet reversed. (so its facing down not up) not sure how im going to do that.

EDIT: nevermind, im just going to turn the pipe upside down or to the left. Well see how that goes.

^^^ Isn't that kinda putting the cart in fron tof the horse, mate?

Did you get the lean idle sorted?

Not really.... only because i wont have a full day to do it. I would only be able to work on it 4 hours a week or so. Doing it this way ill get stuff done. lol

i fixed the lean issue by putting in 440 injectors. lol

So, you didn't have enough injector for it to idle, but it ran fine through the rest of the rev range? That... don't make much sense that the injectors' size would be the issue. But ok.

Not sure also. but its working. lol no problems so far after i adjusted the map on the split sec.

only way that makes sense is if he had a bad injector

That's what I'm saying, it wasn't the size. Probably could have gone to a flow-tested & cleaned stock set and had similar results, just sayin. But if you had a set of 440's layin around that would work, why the hell not? lol

Thats what I said. lol The previous owner of the kit had used the 440s with his setup. I choose not to use it until I had tried everything. So I said screw it, drop the 440s in and see what happens. lol Seems to be working out fine. (im sure it will cover my fuel requirements too)

Fair enough. Probably not a bad idea to have those old injectors freshened up and cleaned just so you've got a spare set just in case.

Washed and waxed her today than cried a little while looking at the rust. :( In prep for tomorrow's mountian cruise I then adjusted the tire pressuer to 35psi in all four tires (31.5 in the rear and 32 in the front). Also checked the oil and added 2qts....first time I have noticed the car burning some. Last oil change was just over two months ago but I am over the 3k mark. Will have to get it changed this week some time and keep an eye on it.

What color is it now? Just the natural mold color that it comes in?
