I need a second (or third) opinion guys.
I've got a
CorkSport Power Series exhaust with a 2.4"
inside diameter tubing. With my header, my car is loud as hell and raspy so I want to put a cat on it to be legal for e-check here in Ohio and to cut out some of the rasp. Summit Racing is just down the street from me and here is a
Magnaflow catylitic converter that is the same length as the OEM cat and comes in 2.5" inlet/outlet. So I was thinking I would be able to simply cut the Corksport tubing in my midpipe 16" for the cat, then would the cat be able to slip over the exhaust tubing, since it's 2.5"? Then I would just clamp both ends to my exhaust with
these clamps. Then I was thinking about adding a
flex pipe in the midpipe too. Because CorkSport includes motor mounts and there isn't any flex pipe in their exhaust. I've already got an AWR mount in the front but couldn't get the rear mount unbolted and I've got CS urethane exhaust hangers so everything is pretty stiff and rigid. I just don't want to crack my header or anything.
I don't have a welder and don't really want to take it to a muffler shop because I don't trust anyone touching my car. So what do you guys think? Thanks in advance.
