What have you done to your P5 today?

Well, after talking to FlyinHawaiian, they're a direct swap. An FP intake manifold should fit an FS head.

So would there be any downsides to getting the 1.8L manifold? I guess there won't be any VICS/VTCS right? Or do they still have it?

Also, I'm just talking about the upper (or whatever is needed to eliminate the VTCS). Does that still apply?

Boy am I beat got everything off the car will be putting on all the turbo stuff tomorrow with new gasket's. After that gotta get started on my guage's and wideband.

Ok so I found a pin hole in one of my coolant hoses. It's the one that goes from the throttle body to the drivers side of the engine. Does anyone know the inner diameter of it? I have to go to autozone and get a new one to replace it tomorrow.

I think that hose is a 5/16"

Thats the same size as the bov and boost guage line right? (since you are doing the kit add on. lol) Whats the vaccume line size you are using ?

Can anyone show me where the plug for the VTCS is? I'm going to unplug it for my MP3 ECU install.

I gotta sea foam my engine after the build get it nice and clean.Anyone done this yet?

i just did this two days ago... in the gas tank , crank case, and pcv.. then i changed the oil after... no problems so far.. everything seems good

green one..

Yup.

But I thought if you unplug the solenoid it will give you a CEL? If you are installing a MP3 ECU you dont need to unplug anything. Just put in the new ECU and you're good to go. The MP3 doesn't have VTCS so it won't open or close those butterflies.

When I put in my MP3 ECU, I just swapped it in and didnt have to do anything under the hood. If you do the VTCS butterfly removal THEN you'll need to cap the solenoids vacuum lines.

So can anyone confirm which one it is? LOL, so I just remove the plug and I'm good to go?

Cool thanks, I'll go unplug it so I don't forget tomorrow.
Don't unplug the electrical connection. Only unplug the vac line.

Yup.

You will get a CEL if you unplug the solenoid if your running a none mp3 ecu.

If you have the MP3 ecu, you can remove the entire VTCS system. MP3's don't have the solenoid or anything at all, so the ecu doesn't pick up or sense anything regarding vtcs.
