What have you done to your P5 today?

word, paint will not fill those in,
and idk if its just me but i freakin hate it when people say bondo, you dont mean use bondo because bondo is the shittiest body filler in the world
go buy some quality body filler and it will turn out alot better

I use rage gold and that s*** sands out easy and is the best filler i have ever used

I've used Bondo and I meant Bondo. I haven't used many other brands of body filler but Bondo always worked well for me. Patience is key.

well take my word for it then, if you plan on doing alot of body work (which i do) spend the money on the good s***,

i just used some left over bondo i had on some eyelids,it worked ok but i just dont like using it for some reason

They turned out much smoother this time around. I'm going to do several light coats of yellow and over time the minor stuff should fill in.

You still have a lot of work to do buddy, you can add paint until you are blue in the face and it won't fill those pinholes in the fibreglass.
Take your time and do it properly with filler, then prime and paint.

Pat.

You should be able to use glazing/spot putty on the eyelids, Matt. It's a lot easier to work with than body filler.

EDIT: Just read bafilo's comments a few pages back. If you used the one-part putty from Autozone, it shrinks when it dries. Use a two-part putty [Evercoat Polyester Glazing Putty is what I use - it's about 20-30 bucks for a quart but you can use it to fill in dings and scratches everywhere on your car). You can just scuff down the surface a little with 150 and apply it directly over the primer you have on there now.

I've just done some minor things like filling badge holes and some rust spots and Bondo worked just fine for me. But if you say there is stuff that works/looks even better, I'm all for that. What brand and where can I find it? And I don't use "cheap s***", I just wasn't aware there was better body filler out there.

i wasnt tryin to insult you in anyway but i was on a few forums that used alot of body filler, like in making custom fiberglass enclosures, and everybody on there recommended Rage Gold, you can buy it at carquest, thats where i got mine

its pretty expensive and you can only get it in a gallon i think...bondo is ok if your only goin to do small stuff honestly
i just prefer using the rage gold on anything thats going on my car lol

actually...lookin at the pictures of it from google that doesnt look like what ihave..hang on while i check

edit: nvm im goin crazy lol that is what i have
sands out alot easier then bondo and has a special ingredient in it to reduce pinholes and such

I finished up with the eyelids, just waiting for them to cure overnight before I wetsand and hit them with rubbing compound. I dunno if I should take pics because I think I'll get shot down. (shrug)

No worries, mate! I'll keep an eye out for some "Rage Gold" in the spring when I have more rust fixing to do. Gotta love Ohio's roads covered in salt...

I don't mean to bash, man. Judging by your headlights, you take pride in your work and do a great job. I'm just a little suprised you didn't use the same work ethic for the eyelids. Maybe you're just excited to get them on. But mos def keep posting pics, especially of them on your car. It's gonna look awesome!

Put on the bra (looks sick w/ vivid yellow!) - EBC pads and Centric rotors awaiting install. In the process of hooking up new stereo w/ 12" sub and 2 extra 6x9's!

Nice...I have had my system unhooked now for almost 6 months...finally ordered a radio...gonna rewire this coming weekend...

What is your setup...I have Focal 6v2s components in the front, Alpine PDX5 amp, JL 6x9's in the rear, Pioneer DEHP4000ub Headunit, HD Radio, and a DIYMA 12" sub with custom box...

Nice, I'm gunna be running a pioneer head - pushing the factory speakers
(the one on the rear passenger side doesn't work - Highly doubt its blown though, but will try to look into getting it to work.. suggestions??)

Alpine MRP450 amp - pushing a 12" - forget the brand but it thumps! as well as two kenwood 5-way 6x9 speakers that I will place in the trunk w/ the cargo cover open (first to see if they sound alright - those bitches are loud!)

Here are the eyelids, no putty used (I tried it and it was a huge PITA). Critique away:

Besides the chip on the left side of the top eyelid in the last picture, they don't look too bad.

I thought about that.. but then again - If I did that, I would have to most likely include them w/ the car if I ever sell it. Right now there in speaker boxes I bought from walmart
