What have you done to your P5 today?

They do have a little bit but the glare is still there no matter what because of the scatter beam housing, it just depends on how far away you are from the car.

I dunno, I'm probably just spoiled from my projectors.

I have to agree that holagen doesn't compare to projector cut off. I love the cutoff that my GAGT's projectors have with HIDS. I wish I had the moooooolah to get your projectors :((

You are spoiled.

No one was comparing reflectors to projectors, I was comparing reflectors to other reflectors.

6 rotors are bigger than the msp...however you can still fit 16" wheels on the 6 brakes(i believe certain 6 models had 16" wheels stock). Anything bigger than msp brakes is over kill though unless your running some super sticky tires ie r-comps/tracking the car
Thanks man. yeah i found that the speed6 would require running 17's minimum.
Here's the thread on brakes. Bear in mind that unless you do all 4, your brake bias is going to be way off front to rear, and as of now no one has figured out how to hook up the ebrake cable to Mz6 calipers (apparently it's different somehow). Happy reading!

Yeah i read about the ebrake situation so i have eliminated the idea of the speed6 brakes. and i would do all 4. wouldnt make sense to do just two. thanks for the link!

Waste of money....if you want better stopping power throw some good pads on there and make sure your rotors are in good shape. Then look at your tires...if they are cheap get better ones. The weakest link in most vehicles breaking systems today is the tires. Sure you can throw massive rotors (which greatly increase rotational mass: a whole different thread) and calipers but then when you hit the brakes they just lock up the wheels and you go sliding all over the place. Before you go throwing stuff on there read up about how automotive brakes actually work. You will save yourself a lot of frustration in the end.

However, if you have top of the line tires then the MSP upgrade is more than enough for the protege's the 6 kit is simply show and really is overkill unless you plan on tuning the brakes and tracking the car.

waste of money is debatable. one could say moddin the protege is a waste of money. it depends on the goal whether it is a waste. The goal here is to fill out the wheels a bit more. the rotors look like dimes behind my wheels. i know some people that can get me the parts i need. just want to decide the most economical and practical route. wouldnt call it a waste, more of a project. All projects or hobbies could be deemed a waste of money from the one not doing. i am not trying to put a four piston set and crossdrilled slotted blah blah blah... not and idiot.
think all i asked was if it worked and if anyone had pics. well i know it works, anyone who has done it has pics with wheels on?

Hey whats going on you guys?!?!!! Newboie here with some questions for ya. What are some basic modifications i can do to my
p5? Also i was wondering if any of you had any transmission and radiator problems with your p5. Let me know.

Cold air intake, VTCS removal, Mp3 ECU flash, and TURBO!

As for my own post, found this on craigslist.

It will work for my car correct?
Is it a good price?

Today I:

removed the headlight eyelids;
removed gunk/tape from headlights
secured amp fuse in a bracket ;)
degreased engine bay
tightened alternator belt

Man the alternator belt was hella loose, and once tightened up, it has vastly improved performace, just like throwing a bigger belt on a supercharger!

hey mazdaspeeder... thanks for that link again. everything i need is there! SWEET!

Glad I could help! The rotational mass is the other part that makes me draw back from upgrading the brakes. The P5 needs every ounce of help it can get to feel zippy under acceleration, and adding bigger rotors deducts from that zip. Plus, P5 brakes are pretty strong to begin with.

bigger brakes arent necessary on the p5. except for the before mentioned reasons. when my brakes were brand new (new rotors and pads) they were so touchy and sticky. i felt like i could stop on a dime. only twice have i locked up my brakes on dry pavement. (have only needed to twice) they have plenty of grip.

if you go turbo... you wont need the mp3 ecu. maybe a msp ecu flash.
