What have you done to your P5 today?

OH OH i might be getting the p5 back from the dealership... got a new engine, and it had no compression.. so i went in and " helped the mechanic" gave the engine some love... and threatened it with being melted... did a compression test... 185 acroos the board... thats good right lol

Tried the toothpaste, worked fairly well on my P5 and 99 dodge dakota. MY P5 is pretty pitted so I will eventually get one of the kits with sanding attachments

My dad gave me the get go to buy some transmission oil and do the change. I was wondering if you guys could suggest a good one for a 100k tranny like Royal Purple....but maybe a little more cost friendly.
THANKS

DONT GET ROYAL PURPLE!! there trans fluid is garbage, go with the synchromesh or redline mt-90, those are much better

i have the royal purple in my transmission and it sucks, i felt no difference in shifting after changing the fluid, and i hadnt changed the fluid since i bought the car..200K miles ago lol

Well just got word kid that wanted the P5 didn't get approved for the bank loan :( Maybe it's a sign from above to stay with the P5 on that note will continue with original plan's to boost this baby.

I agree...I changed the tranny fluid for the first time I know of when it had about 60,000 miles on it and there was a HUGE HUGE HUGE difference...I used Royal Purple as well...

Dang Jeff, you're gonna catch up to me. I'm sitting at either 152, or 153k.

Thats what I thought, I have no clue about our cars and their transmission fluid. Thanks for clearing that up with me

You should use wiki and read up. Nothing wrong with a little learning....

I spent about 1k kms for a snowboard trip and my car needs a serious bath to rid the salt from it.... That'll happen later today!(unamused)

well after six months i finally got off my ass and replaced the battery and started it up i missed it so mutch .But i still need my ems

Drained my transmission of the cheap fluid I was using to flush out the crap before putting in the expensive Mobil1 Full Synthetic ATF. Managed to get right around 7 qts out through the pan and cooler line, so it's pretty much all new Mobil1 full synth in there now. So far my shifts feel a lot better. I ran about 3000 miles on the stuff I put in as a stop-gap fix before and she came out good and clean, which is a promising sign. I'll probably do another flush/fill when I hit 100,000, depending on the condition of the fluid. I'm at 86,000 now and trying to get the max life out of this transmission after it looks like the last change interval was missed by the previous owner.

car got broken into last night. busted my window out and ripped my stereo surround into pieces...took stereo and sub and amp. waiting to hear from insurance company.
