Threw a rod on Tuesday... need new motor...

I'm bummed..

I was driving to a place to have it shipped and it was knocking, I thought I could baby it there but no luck..

My brother was following and was nearly hit by my motor as it scattered across the highway..

I'm working on a to do list while I have the motor pulled, so far I have clutch replacement and motor mounts... any suggestions? I'll probably be building up for boost later.. might as well prepare for it properly..

Depending on your budget I would say go forged and maybe upgrade the tranny if you're going moderately over stock MSP levels.

I have time on my side... so I think I'll be able to hook up the engine with forged (that's the plan anyway) and a couple hundred dollars more to get hardened gears would only be an extra month (I think)

Check Engine light came on and it's running a little rough.

If he got the full corksport, it eliminated the midpipe. Corksport is header-back.

i know, my brother has it on his protege lol but if u look at his mod list in his sig it says corksport catback...didnt know they made those but maybe he bought it used

I think he changed it cause now it says header back. Oh well it doesn't matter.

I ordered my corksport today off a fellow member and it should be shipped out Monday (cool).

I also got a compliment the other day at the gas station from a guy in a cleanly modified civic hatch. Feels good when you get compliments and even better when you get compliments from people with taste.

Seeing as I have a Spec Stage 2+ clutch that I won't be using I highly recomend it...brand new in box...let me know when you need it...lol...

I swapped the radiator with the new one today and the car runs great. Yay!!! Oh and since i did the transmission flush, the car seems to be shifting a lot smoother than before.

Jesus Damian if you're on unemployment right now why the hell do you keep buying up stuff? It seems like every day I see you buying something and usually it's not little things.

haha, actually I read allot. Took the DVD's back to the library and simply decided to drive the P5 since it hadn't been out to play in a while.

The mounting holes for my "Protege5" badge were rusting so I removed it, sanded all the rust off, filled the holes and area with Bondo, primered it, sprayed it with Duplicolor Silver. I wanted to do it well enough so the badge would be shaved but with my first time with Bondo and body work, it's not flawless and the little imperfections are bugging the hell outta me.

So I ordered a Familia Sport20 badge from Ken to cover it all up. I already blacked out all my badges so that's how I'm justifying paying $30 for a piece of JDM cover-up plastic. Heh-heh. I just hope to god no one thinks I am trying to put a Type-R badge on my Honda kind of deal... (ugh)
