What have you done to your P5 today?

Here ya go:

I was in the garage looking in the cars for Taylor's iPod when I heard a weird noise. I'd just gotten out of the back seat of the blue car and I heard this weird creaking sound. I thought it was the car.

I opened the driver's side door of the yellow car, and just as I climbed in, I heard this weird crash sound that sounded like glass breaking.

I looked up to see the ceiling fan in the garage spinning wildly over the cars, just hanging by its wires. Luckily, Taylor was coming back from his bike ride and was able to take it down before it fell on one of the cars.

It was REALLY odd that it happened as I was standing out there. Probably b/c the fan turns on by the light switch so it was running when I was out there.

I was freaking out like "OMG, what if it falls on one of the cars." I was scared for my babies! (nailbyt)

lol those were some strong ass wire nuts I used on the wiring for that Fan hahahahaha

I guess I'll just have to mount the fan bracket to the stud thats there....I needs mah fan!

lol. I have a box fan I use when I"m working on the cars in the garage.

And silly girls. Refers to them as the yellow one and the blue one. Not the MSP and the P5

Bring girly! lol You guys will leave Palooza too soon for me to even worry about it

Oh, and gaskets showed, so, now all I gotta do is get the second 02 bung welded into the header and I be droning!!

lol dont worry Tylor....we'll be staying for the length of the meet im sure....so we'll find you (glare)

Unless I'm in safely hiding in a baby stroller somewhere. You'll never tell me apart from the other babies!!

LMAO! True true! I'll be the guy swapping parts with other Protege guys in the middle of judging! lol

I'm actually not bringing more than I need for food, and, maybe a tshirt or something cool that's for sale.

lol I'm going to keep an eye out to make sure the lip and fog deletes dont disappear from the MSP....

Good idea! lol. You might find them replaced with some P5 foglights! *remembers to bring tools to meet*

Actually, i should have my new lights, both headlight and foglights by the meet, so, no worries on the blue lip. I needs one in white though.

Great thread... need a little timing belt advice for P5

This a great thread but today I'm just posting about doing a timing belt service on my P5. I have about 150,000 miles on it and am looking to do a timing belt. I know I'm lucky to have gone for 150k...

Anyway, I'm getting varying prices on the job from dealers and shops regarding exactly which parts to replace. I'll definitely do the belt itself and the water pump and the drive belts are new. But what about the tensioners? The dealers say they aren't necessary unless they are making noise. I've heard there is a spring that should be replaced though.

Any info and/or advice is welcome and thanks in advance? So far, this car has been fantastically reliable with virtually no repair costs (except for brakes and tires and one O2 sensor).

2002 P5, automatic with electronic manual 4speed option, AC, PS...

Got the 02 bung welded in place, drilled out the no-fouler, rec'd all the new gaskets, but, forgot to order springbolts, so, header waits till they show up next week.

All the local auto parts stores have OEM ones but none of them will fit with the new header. So, ordered aftermarket ones I used on the OBX
