What have you done to your P5 today?

*resists urge to find picture on interwebz of vibrator on work computer...*

lol, might be a close comparison. I was just wondering, because all but my new front mount are shot and I dunno if I want to get new ones when I get home or not.

I was tempted to pick one up. I've only got the front by AWR in right now, just put in last week actually, and, at idle, it vibs pretty decently. But, as soon as I am over 1000 RPM, it's smooth as silk.

You notice anything other than the vibes?

And, are you running any other mounts other than stock?

It feels pretty good. I have not had a chance to really go out and beat on it yet. But I can tell you if you want to elimiate wheel hop, this will do it. When I hit the gas now, it feels very direct. Meaning, super responsive. Seems the power is going right where it should, the wheels. Car of course, is not any faster, (duh) but really, really responsive.
Vibes at idle are better than when driving. Like I said, the rear mount in my friends car is much worse. I have the AWR front mount and passenger side inserts. You do feel every little thing now. lol From the turn of the starter to when you cut the ignition, you will feel all moving parts doing their thing. hehe

Not sure if any of you have that weird tranny whine, but I do and it is definatly louder than before. I dont care, but others will. After I go on a few more drives, I will report back with my findings. But to be sure, the mount will soften up after use, I'm sure.
So far, I like it a lot!

Oh man, I need to claybar and wax mine. My car feels like chalk. :(
I can only imangine what mine is like. Its been sitting in the mud on the side of my house for a month now through 4 snow storms with a dead battery while I save up for a new motor.

Its so sad. :(

I got tired of looking for roof rack caps, so i just took off my roof racks anyways, just to see how i liked it. i also took off the antenna because i never listen to the radio. it looks alright without the caps, but still would look much better with them on. that is, if i could ever find them.

LOL, interesting day...

Cleaned/detailed the interior and the engine bay today. While detailing the engine bay I noticed my fuel rail was loose - apparently I forgot to torque those down yesterday after the 626 IM install - that accounted for the rough idle and gas smell. Unfortunately I didn't notice this until after I had hosed down the engine bay with Simple Green and water. Well I guess something got in past the loose O-rings because upon start up (after I torqued down the bolts) there was lots of smoke and popping. I let the car idle until warmed up then took it out to make sure everything was okay and that's when all the fun stuff happened. Did a pretty hard pull in 3rd and at about 4500-5000 RPM I hear "BANG BANG BANG BANG" coming from the engine - like someone has taken a jackhammer to the engine block. So I immediately let off the gas but not before the CEL starts flashing - I immediately know that's a misfire CEL. So I go to an Advance Auto to read the code and sure enough, Cylinder 1 Misfire and two pending codes (Bank 1 too Lean - makes sense because of the fuel leak, and an O2 sensor problem which has been reoccuring for me so no big deal). Well, I cleared the codes and drove around a little; got a new tank of gas and did some moderate runs. The car seems better now - still haven't done a WOT run but everything seems better. Just must have gotten some water/Simple Green in the IM. I just hope nothing got damaged in the brief moment of engine knocking.

On another note my swaybar/AWR endlink combo is already popping/creaking. It's loud, but honestly, when compared to the rest of my car I could care less at the moment. If I get bored down the road I'll play with it a little more and see if I can't fix it.

Whew, long post...

got my sirius install done... by me. it was much easier than i thought it was gonna be. plus i brought the antenna out through the radio antenna hole, instead of out the back hatch. the reception is sweet and I LOVE NO COMMERCIALS!!!

that's what you get for cleaning your car!! glad to hear it's okay now..(cool).ya water and gas don't mix well in the combustion chamber...

LOL yeah, that's exactly what I thought when I was done. It's funny because I was debating whether or not I should detail the engine bay. Good thing I did because I would have never realized the loose fuel rail bolts - that would have been bad. I just hope that little bit of water or cleaner didn't do any serious damage. The car sounds normal again, no knocking at modest boost (< 5 psi) so that's good. For a moment there all I could think about was "Ah, there goes my engine!"

Anyhow, no plans for the P5 today - she's been babied quite a bit over the last three days. I'd love to wash/wax her but it's supposed to rain later today and that'd kind of suck.

Where's the pics at??

I found out I need new brakes, not the hard way tho, thx the Lord. Will be installing some this weekend, we'll see how bad they are, not grinding the metal yet but close I think.

I've noticed when I go hard into a corner and have to hit the brake hard the Ebrake light on the dash will come on for a sec and go back off, weird...

good point, I'll get on that! I don't have the shark fin yet to go over the two antennas. It's been ordered (about 2 weeks ago) but it says that it will take 4 weeks to get here cause it has to get painted. but some preliminary pics are a good call.

The passenger side low beam took a dump last night. I stopped by the parts sto' on the way home but never got around to changing it, so I did that in the parking lot on my break lol. I find you gain a little working space by popping the cover off of the windshield washer bottle. Not much, but enough to help.

Got HID's so, shouldn't be burning out any bulbs. But, when I put them in, I had to remove the whole headlight. Coudln't get the bulbin straight with that crap there
