What have you done to your P5 today?

It should be fairly simple to write up. The end result pics mostly speak for themselves

Not today but last night.....left the house to pick my daughter up from dance and everything was bright. When we were leaving the studio I noticed things were not so bright.....my goshdarn (cleaned up version) PS headlight is now out!!! I just freakin' replaced the DS last Tuesday!!!

That is now two sets of Silverstars I have gone thru. (argh) So now I am looking at the Osram Silverstars but came acorss the Osram Night Breakers on http://www.powerbulbs.com/product_list.asp?cat1=44&cat2=4 Just don't know if I want to drop $60 on bulbs??? I can get the regular Osrams for $38 shipped off of ebay.

I dropped $50 on the Silverstar Ultras and have been quite happy for the past month. I can't tell yo uhow far outside that they'll last, but, I will keep you updated.

If these do go out, I won't be spending that much on Halogens again, i'll be buying an HID kit.

I got sick of buying lights, so I just went with the HIDs. Much nicer.

looks nice, i should be doing that once springtime rolls around and i have some free garage space.

that's exactly what i did. after 2 sets of silverstars in about a year, decided to go with the HID's. It really is worth it.

I was going through silverstars every 6 months, 6000k HID for over a year with no problems...

I wouldn't have it any other way. A $250 HID kit is worth every penny IMHO.

I have thought about the Ultra's but after going thru two sets of the regular I am not sure.... Sylvania's website does have a $10 rebate going on them right now though. I know a lot of other members are using the Osram's and I haven't read anything bad about them yet.

Trust me, I am thinking about this as well.

I am in the same boat you were....read through some of the vendors threads for HID's yesterday. Just not sure what temp I would go with (anywhere from 4-6k) and which brand.

How is that 6k kit for foul weather and night driving? I figure you are the best to ask given your location! :) That is the light output I am considering.

not sure about 6k, probably a little worse than 5, but 5k is decent in night/bad weather. 4300 is the best, then 5, then everything gets worse from there

Because of changes in the capsule gas chemistry, HIDs shift upspectrum slowly with time. So your 6000K kit will be "hotter" after a year or so. Higher color temp capsules were originally developed as replacements to color match older capsules.
