What have you done to your P5 today?

i filled up with 93 last time, so far mileage isn't drastically improved.

not only is it not improved, you're killing your cat(s). You're probably not getting a full burn w/ the timing set to stock running 93 octane.

When I had my spark plugs sitting on the tarmac at autozone they were all covered with white stuff (carbon I presume) and the guys said it looked like I was running really lean. Could this be true?

I guess I meant to say you break even right around +1mpg. But I didn't factor in the cost of wear on the cat.

Although I always ran 89 in my Miata and had no cat problems--it would ping on 87.

Carbon is black and having it on your plugs means you're running rich. Having white plugs like you do does mean you are running lean though.

What can I do to fix the lean mix? A day prior to this I had put 1/2 a can of Seafoam into a nearly empty gas tank, could that have caused it? I would think that my injectors are clean. Might it be fuel pump/filter related?
