Hey Wilson, the gauge face looks sweet man. Should match the hood quite nicely. Where did you get the midpipe from ?

I'm getting everything ready for NOPI. Wash / wax / detail / wax my matching helmet / re do my mod list with current mods / dig out the original Protege 5 dealer pamplets and so on.

GL at NOPI Bill!

Drove her to work in a light wintry mix and drove home in sleet. Kumho's were good, all things considered. Now she is sitting in the driveway and looks like a popsicle... :(

Snow commute FTL! My company closed at 1:00....in the 12 years I have worked there, it is only the third time they have closed early due to bad weather!!

I don't think in my 11 yrs we have ever closed either.......I usually just leave if it's nasty enough...........

You guys getting some s*** eh. I was checking the weather in PA, (gunna be heading there in a couple weeks) and it looked like they were getting some snow too. Thank god it looks like we might be done.

On that note, I brought the wheels in for some waxing and a little tire shine. Think I am going to swap the winters out tomorrow.

You will notice the difference for the first few shifts after that it just becomes natural and you'll for get about the difference.

To me the stock clutch felt way to spongy and my ACT feels just right. A friend of mine drove it and he says it feels just like the clutch in his MSP.
thx Bill... and yeah, you're right. initially it was a little bit to adjust too, but probably when i drive the car tomorrow i won't notice a thing. so far, i'm loving it.

but... (don't you always hate those?) while idling at lights, etc, this evening my idle was bouncing anywhere from 1200rpm to less than 200 - to the point where i had to give it gas or it would stall out on me. on a few occasions, it would hold steady at about 400-600, but not very often. any ideas for that? could cleaning the egr have knocked loose some carbon and it's just working it's way though the system? it wasn't warm today, but it wasn't cold either, and when i initially started her at the shop and let her idle for about 5 minutes prior to leaving, there was no problem at all.

i'm going to keep an eye on things while i drive her this weekend, but hopefully i don't have to take her back in on monday. any suggestions on things i can easily check myself (no jack/stands atm) would be appreciated.

I have never had an idle problem. not even with the fidanza. I even had the AC on today and it idled smooth at 800 rpms at the lights.

yeah, i'm pretty positive it has nothing to do with the clutch or flywheel... i'm thinking i might give the seafoam a try here and see if that helps anything, but i am hesitant to do it right now until i figure out if the egr is the cause of the bouncing idle (ie, not something deeper in the car that may not be hooked up right, etc)

It's possible that there's a leak in the EGR system causing the symptoms of a really dirty EGR.
what would i check to see if this is the case?

I guess make sure the bolts holding the solenoid on are tight and that the gasket is lookin good and in place properly.

haha...ac on....haha...freaking snowing here...

Yeah I lose. It wasn't snowing yesterday when New England was getting pounded, but I wake up ready to go to the body shop and rip them a new one and I look out the window.. there's 8 inches of snow and it's still snowing heavily >_<
