What have you done to your P5 today?

Well......................my smoked reverse overlays are on. Totally f'd up one of the red turn signal overlays. So, looks like those are going to stay clear (bang)

My battery died at work today. It is 7f right now and probably close to or below zero when I got there at 4:45am. We couldn't get it to jump originally, so I wasted two hours waiting for someone to come out. Finally I was able to get a hold of my dad and we successfully jumped it. Now to get rid of that damn Panasonic junker.

Know how you feal, just happened to me. I had know idea that the stock batteries in are cars were Panasonic till I changed mine.

Not today, but took the P5 to the dyno to see what exactly the turbo added. I won't say yet because I need to scan the dyno sheets for proof but once I do I'll make a new thread. I'll say... I was impressed though (glare)

Although not as good as the 300whp KA20 (I think?) powered 240sx...

you and your torture...

has anyone bought eibach springs off ebay? if so any problems? just dont want to get stuck w/ some counterfeit fony springs.

That battery install was f'n stupid. I decided to hook up my Stinger - battery terminal, but that lead to issues. First, I couldn't find the right size allen wrench for it. So then I had to rearrange the wires again. I had to reposition the suckers like eighty times to get the fitment right with the plastic shields and junk. And lastly, the bastard made a wicked cut on my finger. I was just moments from finishing but I was bleeding out a good amount. OH AND NO BANDAIDS!!! Well, just little goofy ones.

GG Stinger on equipping your battery terminal with a Katana blade. It's a feature!

how does one access the ecu in our cars?
It's under the carpet on the passenger side up by the firewall. Once you get the carpet off you'll see where it is. Just be careful pulling the cover off - it's sharp!

thx... so you access it from inside the car then? and when swapping ecu's, just unplug old plug in new? nothing else needs to be done/adjusted?

Well, it worked. I converted a Honda owner into a P5 owner. :D

My friend bought a 2002.5 Midnight Blue P5 today. He's very happy, and I'm terribly amused.

haha sweeeet...one of my friends bought a new electric blue mazda3 after I drove him around in my p5. more recruits!

Drove her back from Daytona. Yes. The 24 Hours. 100% of everything that is awesome. Pics will be forthcoming at a later date, cuz I'm tired as hell...

doesn't a mp3 ecu in a p5 yield a few more hp or something?

yeah but if u use the MP3ecu....you have to use 93 octane to get the extra HP...or the ecu will reset itself until u run 93 in it.

you don't gain too much up top, but you definately gain a lot through your 'normal' revs. The midrange is a lot fatter.

rough guesstimates... combined with an AEM sri, OBX header, MAM midpipe with high-flow cat, and Magnaflow catback, approximately how much of a hp increase could i expect by adding the following:

- udp
- j-spec intake cam
- mp3 ecu

also, getting new (ACT) clutch and flywheel (stock, but lightened 3-5 lbs); would this add/alter anything at all?

that sounds like a nice NA setup to me.. switch that magnaflow to a racing beat, the obx to a ractive, and the AEM sri to an ebay CAI and that's pretty much how I was before I decided to turbo. well and I did the VTCS removal and stuff but that isn't a biggie.

It'll sound nice (a little loud for me on the highway but yeah), pull nice and hard, and yield a nice low fuel consumption if you keep the speeds down on the highway :)

I honestly really miss being naturally aspirated. yeah my car is a lot faster now, but it's quieter, and definitely feels less raw. I miss my header, I miss my MP3 ecu, and most of all I really miss that smooth powerband. bah
