What have you done to your P5 today?

not sure on the part number but I think I got the bosch about 2 months ago. Also got NGK wires and switched the coils with each other and the misfire stayed on cly 1. It's really becoming a pain in the ass.

I've heard VERY bad things about Bosche plugs on our cars. I haven't heard a single person say they are happy with them.

looking back on it I might have ordered the denso plugs but not sure anymore it is definitely worth looking, into thanks for the info.

Denso or NGK plugs should be AOK in the car. Just pull one out and check, it's so freakin easy to get at them in our cars, and you're in AZ so you don't have the "it's cold" excuse.

I do have the "I work two jobs and go to school full time" excuse, but I'll see if I have time to check it in between jobs today

P.S. It's awesome weather here, mid 70's all week! :P :D

Yeah today was supposed to reach 59 here and I think 62 tomorrow.. tomorrow I'm going to wash and wax cars with my roommate and his volvo. It's gotta get done before the snow comes >_<.

.. still deciding what wax I'm going to use. For some reason I still feel like a nice thick liquid like the non-synth waxes will hold up longer than a runny liquid like Turtle Wax Ice, though it is said the synthetics do last longer. Maybe I'll use NXT, the perfect tradeoff.. not runny, but still synthetic. too bad it leaves white residue everywhere.

got ran off the side of the highway while on vacation. front bumpers shot and the driver side fender is pushed back. exactly one year from the date i hit a deer on the same stretch of highway, just 5 miles apart.

it got up to 70 here today also..

.. and I'm back.

The car is completely back together..

well actually I'm waiting on my air filter to dry so I can re-oil it and attach it up. Then it's completely back together.

Summary:
1. rr-racing rear motor mount inserts
2. Mazda engine block heater
3. converted CAI to SRI because I'm sick of how dirty the CAI filter gets
4. new coolant
5. back to the factory strut tower brace because I felt like it.. I dunno I doubt my other one is any stronger, just shinier.
6. VTCS butterflies and rod removed, JB weld applied.. hope I applied it well enough that there's no vaccuum leak *crosses fingers*.

right now it's sitting in the garage with the battery disconnected, I'll go out in a min to put the new air filter back on and then hopefully take it for a drive.

I'm not doing another 56 miles on bike tomorrow. With 2 hours of sleep last night and then all those miles, my body was physically exhausted when I was ~0.5 miles from home.. I could barely go more than 5mph on flat.. I've never gotten like that, looks like I need to do more biking :P

I'm sure I'll be sore all over tomorrow. If the car doesn't work I'm taking the day off. My boss is ok with it, he actually asked me why I bothered coming in today after I explained the state my car is in and that I rode my mountain bike to work.

*crosses fingers again* here I go.

car is running right now.

good to know: the car will start with the throttle cable disconnected, the throttle position sensor unplugged, and the egr solenoid unplugged.. it was idling rough and threw a CEL and I was like :'(

Now it's smooth as can be, but CEL is still on sinc e I don't feel like disconnecting the battery again.

Oh and the engine block heater works. It seems to take 1-2 hours to get the radiator hoses feeling nice and warm to the touch.

Man, I'm tired just reading about your day :). Lookin' forward to feedback from your shakedown run.

zomg. It feels like I have my MP3 ECU back. I don't know why but I definitely notice a harder pull from 5k rpms to redline.

Wheel hop: killed
Bucking when jabbing the throttle: killed
Vibration sensitive electronic components: likely killed.

It feels like I'm back to my 95 durometer front motor mount now that the rear is in. It feels good at idle and while driving but that initial rev to take off... the whole dash vibrates very loudly.

I should probably get my codes pulled to make sure the TPS and EGR are the only things. The car drives fine, but I just want to be sure.

I was worried that I would get the VICS and VTCS plugs mixed up but it seems like I didn't. green to the VTCS solenoid (which isn't connected to anything at all), white to VICS, right?

Edit: and I'm still amazed that I took apart that much and didn't have any extra nuts/bolts when finished. crazy.
