What have you done to your P5 today?

participated in my first autocross today. Just took a couple free runs at the end, nothing official. If i could say one thing about the handling it would be understeer, although it really wanted to lift off oversteer. All in all good fun unfortuantly it was the last event of the season so i'll have to wait till march to do it again.

zomgzomgzomg

so yeah my car is REALLY apart. intake off, strut tower brace off, battery out, egr, throttle body, fuel rail, upper and lower intake manifold all removed.

... all just to install my engine block heater..

for anyone who was considering getting the engine block heater: get it professionally installed. It isn't worth the trouble.

I should be able to do my RR racing rear motor mount inserts since I have everything all apart. Is it totally normal that all inside the intake manifold it's all orangy - black ?

I'm thinking I'll spray it with some Seafoam deep creep.

I finally got a chance to work on my car today, nothing special, just cut 1/2 inch off my ebay intake, no more rubbing on the master cyclinder.

I shocked an idiot when I told him that it was indeed ME that painted the calipers.. I guess he thinks it is a hard job to take off the tire and paint..

picked up baby's new blanket yesterday - finally - and it's so nice and soft :) good thing too, we've probably had about 4-5" of snow this weekend :(

now i just have to have a nice dry day so i can take her to the shop at work, pull the front end off in prep for swapping out the headlights, give her a good bath, swap out the wheels (14's from the 626 are going on her for sitting), drive her home - without getting too dirty AGAIN - and tuck her in snugly for winter.... i won't miss her getting dirty, but i so miss driving her :(

Drove the car home on Thursday and heard an especially odd clunk, even given the that I've heard some new clunks since the instal of the AWR. I took a look under the car to see if there was something obviously wrong, and found that the left endlink was laying on the lateral link. The entire nut/bolt that hold the endlink to the strut was gone! So, now I'm running around with a disconnected rear way bar, and need to get the proper replacement hardware from AWR, I suppose. Bummer.

^ at least you still have your link... buddy of mine has one link on the front end that simply disappeared. go figure that one out

one of my AWR endlinks decided to break today, i get to solve that problem tomorrow. Awesome.

my car is in pieces still and I have to be up in 6 hours to go to work :P

I have the engine block heater installed though o_O

I need to figure out how the hell the bracket for the rear motor mount is supposed to fit over the new inserts.. they make the whole thing thicker than when it was just the stock rubber.

I've checked every thread I could find that could possibly have the info.. it seriously doesn't look like anyone has posted on here about installing the rear inserts, not the whole mount just inserts.

It snowed like a 1ft today so I finally put on my studded snow tires and snowboard rack......cant wait to use it again.

rear motor mount pwnage. I CANNOT for the life of me get the bracket and the bushing lined up so that I can fit the bolt through... it just will not work >_< >_<

now I don't know what to do. I think I may have to take my roommate up on his offer to give me a ride to work, and then figure out how to get back somehow. I'll post on the local car forum to see if someone can help me.. I think I'm just physically too weak at this point.. I've been going at it for 11 hours now.

:(....april is a long ways away....can you make it until then??

stock tires *shudders*.

I'm still deciding if I should just go ahead and put the snow tires on now or wait until there's some snow on the ground :P

That being said.. I'm not going to do anything to my P5 this morning.. I need to bum a ride to work (30 minutes away >_< ).
